I could welcome AK, Wade, or Beard with open arms myself…

Beard is the only answer. Charges were dropped so good to move forward. They way coaching goes these days we should already have offered him.

Beard is top of my list. Then Wade if cleared by NCAA in time.
Also sounds like chris holtmann (Ohio State) could be a dark horse. Looks like him and Ohio State are headed towards a mutual breakup.

Bring back AK. We were wrong to let you go.

Hopefully someone exciting. Kermits style was as fun as a root canal night in and night out

how in the hell was he so relatively successful at MTSU?

Can we clone a male version of Coach Yo?

Beard 100%. He’d turn us into the program we thought we would have when we built the pavilion.

Who cares, let’s just focus all our efforts on Baseball it’s the only sport we’ll ever truly win in

He went to the dance 3 times in 16 years. Never made it past the 2nd round. Rod Barnes was better than that.

There is a reason they are heading to a mutual breakup. He is 11-17 this year and hasn't made it past 2nd round of ncaa tournament. OSU is a football school but they consistently make the tournament and have had deep runs so this is an extremely disappointing season and have plenty of NIL money to throw around (much of which is going to Bronny). Why would we hire a guy who is failing at a better program and hope for success here? I'm not saying he won't eventually be the guy we have to hire, but we have to take a few swings at some potential program changers before settling on the guy who is about to be fired.

Oh I 100% agree. That hire doesn't excite me. But I could end up seeing us go that direction and Carter selling it as hiring a siting power 5 HC with multiple NCAA tourney appearances.
RebelGrove released their first hot board, no surprise names. Beard and Wade are really the only two truly exciting names

Yeah the more I think about it the more I agree with this. I don't completely hate the idea but right now we need a hire to excite the fan base and rally the NIL troops and I'm not sure this one does it. I'm sure Carter has been thinking about this for awhile now tho and has a plan.

If you looks at his records at MTSU, he was there almost 10 years before having a good season. The first 10 years there were pretty lackluster. Maybe we should have just given him more time.

The timing of this is interesting. Why fire him with only 3 games left?
Maybe Carter has his eye on someone who won't be coaching in the tournament and he wants to be the first to pounce. Maybe he wants to crank up due diligence on candidate(s) who will need thorough research.

Any chance of a Friday afternoon "Will Wade Clear" NCAA news dump...?
