The state of Missouri brings home another. Remember who the real top dogs of football are. Kiss the Super Bowl Champion rings

The Chiefs could be bought and moved to a new city tomorrow.
Your university will always be the flagship and most conspicuous representation of your state. That is why College > Pro, among other reasons.
Also, no other country plays football, so if winning NCAA makes you “only” a national champ, then winning the NFL likewise limits your claim.
Let’s not pretend that pro teams represent the football prowess of their city / region / state. Unless, of course, you believe New England and California are the football juggernauts of the U.S.

Well, I will give credit to pos teams that started playing in the leather helmet days in a city and are still playing in that same city today.

A college title means wayyyyyyyy more to a college alumni/fan, than a pro title means to a pro fan

This is fair. Boston and San Francisco are two of the biggest soft nerd city’s in America. Yet they’ve won a LOT of pro championships. They would win jack sheet if they actually had to assemble a team in Football, Basketball, or Baseballl from their citizenry.
I could build a nasty MLB roster if you just gave me Cobb County, GA; Orange County, CA, and Dade County, FL
Likewise I’d like my Chances in football with Polk County FL, Gwinnett County, GA, greater New Orleans, Houston, and Dade/Broward Florida
In basketball all I need is South Chicago and the 5 Burroughs of NYC

It's all subjective, of course. LSU titles are always fun, but I have to say seeing the Saints win a Super Bowl after decades of futility was awesome.

I've enjoyed both over the last few years and they bring equal amounts of joy

So?
How many natties would Saban have at UA with nothing but in-state talent!

This is a pro Missouri thread, but I have to concur. The Ozark hillbilly nor his offspring will ever move Mizzou elsewhere, and that makes college sports all the more better for all its warts.

Doesn't Canada have a pro league? Also I think Mexico plays in some parts of the country.

I prefer college football. I use to go to Falcons games but after the Michael Vick dog fighting fiasco that the Falcons didnt think was a big deal I haven’t gone back.
Never experienced the passion and loyalty to pro football that is present at college games.

Probably not as many.
But at no point in the history of Alabama’s football program have AL kids not been a significant portion of Alabama’s roster. Alabama’s attachment to Alabama football stems from the fact that it’s a team comprised of “Us”.
Pro sports are an agency for entertainment. College Football is more than that. And I enjoy pro sports and follow the Falcons, Hawks, Braves, & United.
But I went to class with Hines Ward, Champ Bailey, Matt Stinchcomb, Paul Snellings, and Adam Meadows. I’ve been to sorority mixers with Kirby Smart. And I played against lots of guys in HS that played for UGA. It’s a totally different level of attachment.

The Super Bowl IS a National Championship.
It was Kansas City v. Philadelphia, not U.S.A. v. China.
