Well, I guess it's time to talk myself into this dude being a savant who will make his way to a big time HC job in the next 3-4 years. At least he knows how to call a fricking designed rollout.

At the very least, he's young, played the position, and will be able to relate to the players. He's also going to work his arse off because he's got a long career ahead of him and he's still trying to prove himself.

The dude is betting on himself in taking this position, so I think he's going to be really driven to succeed.

Whether that's translates to success is TBD, but if not, I don't think it'll be for a lack of effort.

Maybe we can call some more toss sweeps.

Talk me into too while you are at it.

Time to Rees-pect the process!

Was Lane or Heupel interested in the QB from Wake? If not, I'm not impressed with a good ACC QB as some sort of indicator in Rees' coaching acumen.

And FTR the moment he entered the portal it was already rumored ND was the front runner. Not to mention UT was not worried about a QB until a few weeks later.

Not to mention he stated he wanted to play in a pro style offense to help his draft stock but I would assume someone like you with such a high acumen for college offenses would understand why Heupel and Lane might not work out for him if he is searching for a pro style offense.

I like it and like you said he has something to prove for for his future.

J/K. Kinda. I hate that we hired someone that we will have to see how it pans out instead of hiring someone that instantly makes the conference worried, I dont think notre dame put up much of a fight to keep him

What nicknames are we gonna call him?

I obviously suggest Reese's Pieces

Well, Kyle Reese was John Connor's father.

I suspect he's going to do a better job than BoB.

If he doesn't do a better job than BOB he and Saban will feel the heat. The DC hire has to be a homerun

I believe giving anyone the benefit of doubt especially young coordinators taking the next step up the ladder. ND is not on Bama’s level, but it’s still considered top tier and the pressure to win is just as high.

Stalling’s, Pendry, Kiffin, Sarks and probably a few more I can’t think of all came to Bama with baggage and some was considered washed up and failed in previous coaching stints, but they was given a chance again and produced or helped produce championships. It just took being in the right environment to be successful.

He's not on my personal top 5 list of people that I would have liked but I am optimistic for the hire, especially the more I read about him.

Rees only got the job because he signed the waiver stating he wouldn't run shotgun at the goal line.
