What is the future of Will Muschamp?

I had high hopes for him at UF. In 2012 with Dan Quinn as his DC, UF had the best defense in the country, IMO. Then Quinn left. Defense was still good, but everything else fell apart.
More or less the same story at South Carolina.
Goes to Georgia and their defense is among the best in the nation the past two years. Makes sense with him, Kirby and the others on staff. Probably the best defensive staff in the nation by a lot.
Does he stay there as an assistant or will he get another HC position? I assume he's still raking in buyout money.
Will is a good dude but things just haven't worked out for him as a HC.
What happens for him moving forward?

I'm honestly not sure he's in a hurry to go anywhere. He'll be at least co-DC as long as he wants to be and he'll be well compensated. He also supposedly really likes living in Athens.

he's home and he's staying home

I believe he's still cashing checks from USC, has a kid on UGA's team, and is co-DC at his alma mater. He might have figured out now that he's not cut out to be a head coach so he'll enjoy being a multimillionaire DC for the rest of his career.

Bad head coach, good DC. Not too hard to figure out.

The same as Jimbo’s, without the money.

Wouldn't he be an upgrade to whatever DC Arkansas has right now? But I am guessing he would be too expensive for Arkansas to pay him.

Living the life many would love to live.
Rich, low stress job for pocket change with the best seats in the house for games at his alma mater. Bless his heart….haha.
Why jump back in the fire when you have a nest on the ground….

Odom is gone, move on.

Will he get another Power 5 HCing gig in a place that's at least proven it can be a top 20 program in the recent past?
I don't know, but he'd likely take such an offer.
Would he go to a Group of 5 program or take an Indiana, Colorado type offer and try to rebuild his brand as a HC? Don't know, but I don't think that would be nearly as tempting as the first option.
Would he be lured anywhere else as DC?
I would think the answer is no to that one.

He grew up on Gainesville. Played youth football at the Boys Club. I went to the same high school he attended. His father was the Headmaster at the school and a great guy. After his freshman year, I think, his father was offered a position at a school in Georgia, he took it, and the family moved to GA.
He wanted to go to Florida but Spurrier just didn't have room for him, IIRC.

Interesting. Didn’t know that.
I have seen him, Kirby, and Bobo at restaurants having a good time. I would never leave a job doing what I love, making bank, working with my college buddies all the while winning national titles.

Yelling and high blood pressure.

Muschamp is a POS. Worst coach to ever come through Carolina

Were they filming a remake of the 3 Stooges?

Spurrier didn't have room for a walk on, huh?

Why make shite up?

Does he even have to recruit? I think he makes 800k for just coaching the defense in 12-15 games a year

Muschamp likes recruiting.
Yes.
With all of the defensive minds on staff, he probably doesn't have the typical time commitment where 2 defensive position coaches lead recruit the biggest names. UGA has 3 big time recruiters on defense plus Kirby.
