Makes sense as Will Redmond was hired a couple days ago.

Its a massive step up for him, one that you can't pass up. He's going from off the field to a P5 position coach. He will probably do really good recruiting there too. Early prediction is in a few years when Crime retires that we hear Trovons name for DB coach.

I thought he was already taking an “on the field” position with Auburn. I’m not sure if it was a position coach or not. I hate we are losing him, he seemed very instrumental in recruiting.

Well the only one available is DC so no.

You might be mistaking the fact that essentially when a coach leaves we let him go on the road recruiting to fill in for the missing coach.

He was still off field for us. "Director of football & recruiting relations" was his official title. When we had coaching spots open he was allowed to go on the road on recruit and did that a lot. This is his first on field job.

That's it. I saw news a couple weeks ago about him having an "increased role" and going on the road. I though that meant he was taking some role that would allow him to go on the road permanently.

My mistake.

Last week was amazing. This week has been a square kick in the hairy boys.

Caldwell just said he didn't expect Nicholas sign with us.

I don’t expect him to either. Freeze needs another experienced DL from the portal to go along with these stud freshmen coming in.

Ryan Williams recommitting to bama didn't bother me.
The loss to bama didn't bother me.
This bothers me.

Trovon leaving was definitely the best option for him and his family. I'm happy for him and hopefully he comes back home soon.

Recruiting turned around when Harsin left and Freeze came onboard. No doubt it sucks Trovon is gone, but hopefully Freeze can choose a suitable replacement that will keep us just as competitive in recruiting.

Good for Trovon. Whether he proves himself to be a good OTF coach or not, I’d love for him to make his way back to AU. I can’t imagine how much success he’s going to have recruiting now that he’s able to travel.

That’s why he hired Will Redmond.

Trovon needs to go out and spread his wings as a coach, and getting a shot in a P5 program is huge. Plus Gus will be good to him. I’m happy for TReed!

Yeah the last couple of weeks have still been a net positive but seems like we really missed an opportunity to capitalize the way we hoped

Step back and think about how far he has come since he played for Auburn. He has built a place for himself with recruiting using his mentoring skills.

Because lets face it, he was a terrible football PLAYER. He is way better at this .

Good luck to him at UCF
