Nobody even knows if he's actually a target. The only news about our coordinators spots is all guesses.

If it went anything like Sherman’s talk, he was being passed by our backup LB’s, so he had to go to elsewhere to get PT.

Our ILB coaching and development has been embarrassing for the last few years. That guy is gone but you don't just immediately make up for lost years overnight. Georgia is light years ahead of us at that position. It's entirely possible their 4th ILB is more developed and "call the defense" ready than our rising 2nd year guys opposite Lawson.

A lot of people want to put on their cope face about this stuff but it really does seem like he’d be an improvement.

We seem likely to bring in someone who teaches ILB more like how we use to do it before Golding and it would be fantastic to have a veteran around to reinforce coaching.

What?

I've said multiple times I want the hire to be Pruitt over Schumann.

There is nothing similar to how Marshall got on the field and how Sherman gets on the field.
Marshall rotates in with the 1 defense.
Sherman is the last guy on the field in a blowout (freshmen get in ahead of him).

I don't agree with the analogy.

Please, please, please post those hilarious Thad Matta to Alabama gifs again.

That's comedic gold.

ETA: Found one.

Jesus, you were so happy that day.

Jermaine Burton transferred away and to get more PT and had a similar season to his two Georgia seasons. maybe he just isn't that good

I actually said something along these lines when that move happened.

Burton got PT at UGA. But the reality is he had two seasons where he had the opportunity to get all the targets he wanted... 2020 (as the #2) and 2021 (as the #1). He fell back to a #3 spot for UGA both times.

I suggested that after two seasons where opportunity was present... he just might be a 4-500 yard a season WR for UGA... and that likely would make him a 600-700 WR for Bama with them passing more, but not an elite WR like they were used to.

And that's what he did. 677 yards.

Marshall is a different animal though. UGA didn't have standouts at WR for a player to get stuck behind. Burton had opportunity and didn't do much with it. At LB, UGA has a crapload of great players and guys have already moved on when they were down the depth chart to be stars elsewhere (Jermaine Johnson is a great example). To even get the opportunity at LB is tough at UGA. It's not that way at WR.

My point had nothing to do with their PT in the past. One played, the other didn’t. We all know that.

It was based on the post season talk with the coaches about the future. They all recently had that talk. Many who transfer away didn’t like how that went.

Sherman’s family let us in on what was said to them: “they wanted to
Focus on the younger players”.

Can that be applied to trez too? It’s not far fetched. Sorey hasn’t left yet.

Thad absolutely said “frick OFF” to tTide.

Y’all probably would’ve been to an Elite 8 by now had you been able to land him.

Sorey wouldn't get more reps than Trez.
There are freshmen getting equal reps to sorey.

I understand where you are trying to go with this. But you are off on the order of players. Trez was the first linebacker in the rotation.

So why leave? I don’t think trez liked what he heard from us, and we know what another transfer was told, so It adds up logically. Nothing else I have seen makes as much sense as the scenario I presented.

Did you go to work today?
Why would you leave your home?

This is college football now.
If team B needs a player more than team A and shows it with the color green, you shouldn't have to ask why leave.

Oregon State transfer Omar Speights made a quick trip to Tuscaloosa last weekend and the Tide decided to pass with the intention of focusing on Marshall who they felt good about and had higher on their wish list. Speights ended up at LSU.

Good ole TWatts protecting the bama brand hard there. Even his own subscribers ripping him up for that one as he deletes those posts for pointing out how stupid this sounds
