Florida lost the last game of the regular season and only got a chance to play for the natty because the Texas upset Nebraska and John Cooper did what he usually did at the end of the year and shite the bed against Arizona St.

Florida didn’t even have to play a top 5 team in the first round of the playoffs to earn an opportunity at the natty like other 1 loss teams have done in more recent eras, they backed in the back door.

Sure they beat the team that beat them in the sugar bowl, but really they are 1-1 against them and if those games were flipped spurrier would have no natties.

P.s. urban only won at Florida because Bowden was past his prime and Miami had randy Shannon

If they do I already pointed out that Florida lost during the regular season and that they didn’t have to earn their way into the title game by beating a top 5 team in the first round of the playoffs

No body cares. Nothing will change the fact that he changed the game, won a lot, and kicked the shite out of UGA regularly.

Glad you have something between the hedges, because you don't have anything between the ears...

2. Florida beat FSU 52-20 after losing by 3 points in Tallahassee

3. 2021

Your national title for 370 threads created since September is legit though.

It was the way it was at the time of the Bowl Coalition. Just because you weren't alive doesn't make it any less official. Arizona St. lost. I guess like a lot of LSU fans feel about Okie St, they shouldn't have dropped in the polls?

Ohio st won that game. Ariz St was the title contender.

Nothing will change the fact that even after Spurrier and Meyer dominated Georgia for over twenty years the Lizards still haven't come within 10 games of tying the record between the schools.

Which makes what they did ever more impressive...

Don't let your hate of Florida obscure the fact that Meyer only faced (and beat) Miami ONE time as Gator's HC and that UF team won the national championship. Oh, and he beat the snot out of Georgia (5 out of 6) and Tennessee (6 out of 6). But keep that Miami narrative going.

I was with ya until ya had to drag Urban into it. He was a force at UF and those teams were great. I will reference 2011 alabama as another team that snuck in the back back door.

Not to hijack your thread friend, but Steve Spurrier always looked a lot like James Earl Ray to me.

Spurrier

Ray

Reading up on MLK events last Monday brought back that recollection to me.

No agenda, no snarkiness, not trying to be funny. Resemblance is all.

It is crazy that as great as Spurrier was and as weak as the SEC was in the 90s, he could only win 1 national title.

Florida was the best team in 1996 by a long shot. You could build a pyramid out of your bad takes.

Spurrier owned Georgia.
