Sucks. I loved the pirate and couldn’t wait to see him as a TV guy after his career

Was a really great coach and person, always entertained on the field and in interviews. Always loved hearing him talk about 17th century piracy. Can't imagine the hurt the Leach familiy is feeling right now...
It's an understatement that CFB lost a great one, RIP Coach Leach

I’m taking his news on the chin. Just sucks thinking he is gone.
He was way too cool to be only one guy.

He was a special character. Good football coach with a great sense of humor. Sad news.

Crazy sad man. Right here at christmas also. Mike Leach was a very likable fella. Kiffin said it best, he went out a winner like he was.

MSU Should never take that Pirate Flag down.

I am praying for his family.

Ironic that Miss State's bowl game is in a stadium with a pirate ship. RIP to one of the game's best characters.

His good buddy Steve Robertson @ 247 said that what mike was really looking forward to was partying with Bert in Tampa. Leach was quite fond of him.
Leach never slept. He would sent random texts all through the night / morning to those he knew best. His mind never could shut off. Super intelligent people are exactly like this.
I really wonder if that is exactly what finally did him in. He had the cough / heavy throat clearing back to his Wazzu days.

I believe the MSU statement said he passed due to complications from a heart condition. That doesn't sound like what you would say if it was a random heart attack. Makes me wonder if the speculation on congestive heart failure was pretty close to the mark.

Did he have bipolar disease?
Seriously, there are some amazing people with mental illness that can function at a high level.
