It was the worst thing for LSU because it knocked them out of the playoff.
But, if the price to pay is a rent-a-win all but one year since 5&7's joining (no one remembers covid year, and the overtime doesn't happen because the rule dictates the game was over whe Mond spiked the ball with under a second to go), then I guess we'll have to live the the cupcake of our decision.

I’m all for a good flame when they have substance to stand on. This one isn’t it. Do better A&M

Why does the ACC get so low numbers? Most of their teams are still in the southeast and have a similar football culture to the SEC. You’d think they would do better

The ratings suffer when national brand Alabama isn't involved.
Alabama has been the team to bring the biggest ratings the last decade.

That SEC number seems low.
3pm on saturday
not really much drama considering TCU & USC could lose and be left out.
Also LSU had 3 losses

so Texas OK are bringing the Big 12 crowd.

Bama’s value to the conference has shifted from people tuning to see them play, to people tuning in to see them lose. Alabama has reached that status in sports where their downfall is must see TV and people will tune in at any chance to see it, especially on a massive stage like the SECCG.
It's good to be the King!

LSU Georgia was 13.7M back in 2019.
The A&M loss put a damper on the TV ratings and tiger fans who traveled to ATL.

The ACC is the most mismanaged league in college football. I will not be surprised if sometime in the future it is revealed some form of corruption was behind it.
The ACC will struggle as long as its main brands struggle.

So the Big 12 basically got the same number as the PAC-12 and ACC combined and they didn’t even have Texas or OU in the game. I wonder how the coastal elites over in PAC-12 land are digesting that news today.

That is down 5 million viewers from last season's game between Alabama and Georgia. I wonder why the viewers tuned out.
I even tuned out after a little bit. It was still a game, but we all knew where it was going and I had an event that night.

I do not see the Pac continuing as a power conference. The Big 10 will get hungry again and take a couple more. The 4 corner schools will likely join the BIg12. I doubt Cal and Stanford remain p5 if the Big 10 does not take them and they look down on the Big 12 in academics and some of its member's religious affiliations.

I would agree. I cruised through some PAC-12 message boards back when USC and UCLA bolted and I was surprised to see how much they all looked down on the Big-12 and called it the worst conference. They clearly live in their own bubble over there because three quarters of the country says the exact same things about them being the worst P5 conference.

About half their teams are in the southeast and only 3-4 ACC teams can be said to have similar football cultures to the SEC. I’d personally only list Clemson, VT, FSU, and maybe NC State.

Kansas State-TCU would have exceeded SEC and Big 10 Championship Games if it wasn’t for the fact that they were going up against the World Cup.
