I'm younger than the average posted, but for State it would be
Sylvester Croom (HC)
Woody McCorvey (OC)
Charlie Harbison (DC)
This is back when there were only 120 D1 football schools, and during Croom's five year tenure, our offense never made the top 100 and McCorvey was his OC the whole time. He was actually given the chance to coach one more year in 2009 if he would fire McCorvey, but he said no.
Charlie got it because Croom's DC the first four years was Ellis Johnson who was a pretty decent DC and we had some okay defenses that look worse in hindsight than they actually were because when your offense can't score, your defense gets gassed. Ellis left to be USM's head coach but went 0-12 and got fired. Charlie does get a trollish heads up because he held Auburn to 3 points, but we still lost the game.

Was elite at SC. But never did anything of note anywhere else.

The infamous 3-2 game. Tubs was similar to Croom in that he was very loyal to assistants. Which is why the 2008 offense was so bad. Tubs hired Tony Franklin but kept all the offensive assistants and they didn’t jive.

Auburn
Bowden (HC)
Bowden (OC)
Oliver (DC)
To be fair, Oliver’s defense was fine but he caused dissension like he did at bama.

Don't forget Jimbo as QB coach and Trickett on the OL.
Also, Tommy was a pretty good OC. shite fell apart when he left for Tulane.

Croom HC
Woody McCorvey OC
Ellis Johnson DC
Honestly Johnson did ok as DC then. The 2007 team had a great defense.
McCorvey was terrible and had croom gotten a decent OC he might have had more success. Our offense was atrocious under croom

I think the LSU staff 2020 makes 2008 look like pro's. Ed O, Ensminger and Pelini. I feel bad for Ensminger even saying that.

That is fair, Ensminger did not even want the position but Ed O and Pelini could bring down any coach in the other position.
