dunno why people hate the Roberts hire. One of their choices was Odom who just had one of the worst defenses in FBS this season. So why is he better? (And, no, I don't think one season should define Odom either).

Roberts is an Xs and Os guy, which is what Freeze prefers at DC. Baylor was one of a handful of teams in 2021 that held all of their opponents to under 30 points. His protege is Dave Aranda, who ironically fired him.

Aranda had to. Baylor had a massive drop-off this year compared to last (when they won the Big-12). And Roberts ran their (very good) defense last year.

Aranda fired him because it's what head coaches do to shift blame and/or make it look like they're "doing something." The public is impatient and wants people fired even if there is no good reason to do so.

Don’t let this get buried. Has anyone else heard this or is my friend wrong? (Hopefully)

No one believes you have a friend Kenny so, you’re wrong.

Kodi Burns always gets bashed by Auburn fans who remember our shitty-to-mediocre receiving corps when he was here, blame all of those woes exclusively on him, haven't followed his career since he left, and wouldn't know where he's at now without a search engine.

I doubt he leaves where he's at, now.

NFL coaching receiver's for the Saints, so it's safe to say he isn't coming back in that role.

Nobody is asking why Aranda would fire his mentor and not go to bat for him? That alone tells me something is wrong with this guy.

I got no angst. I'm on the wait as see side, but I just find it hilarious the the Freeze disciples thinks that Roberts is a great hire and was the big name blowing up Freeze's phone.

He's clearly a plan C type guy.

Very few (if any) are saying it’s a ‘great’ hire.

if you don’t like the freeze hire, you’re negative towards Roberts as DC…. Nothing wrong with that.

Or he is redundant since Aranda himself was a DC. Their recruiting is struggling so he is replacing him with a recruiter and running the defense himself. I would have had no problem if Freeze had went that route on the offensive side here

I heard rumors of Leonard to the GB Packers, a chance to stay in Wisconsin. Likely just internet chatter without merit but would make sense if they have a spot open maybe even just as a position coach.

Why would he be a position coach to stay in Wisconsin? He could’ve been the DC still at Wisconsin if he wanted to.

I don’t know if he would unless his options are limited and/or wants an NFL opportunity more than an out of state college DC gig. GB might need a DC after this year, I don’t know.

I mean, he was in Auburn 2 years ago. It’s not like he’s had some monumental journey since then

Reading this would make you think the guy went on a real ride for a few decades

What does a receivers coach do in the NFL; pick up the ball when the wideout drops it?

He catches the ball and hands it to the QB during practice

Would be an awesome job with that $400,000 salary. I’m not sure how much he makes just assuming it’s near there.
