LSU 2019 Drills and testing

Why isn't this at least the minimum amount of effort we expect from our WR coach and receivers at Auburn?

Roberts is an Xs and Os guy, which is what Freeze prefers at DC. Baylor was one of a handful of teams in 2021 that held all of their opponents to under 30 points. His protege is Dave Aranda, who ironically fired him.

Nobody is asking why Aranda would fire his mentor and not go to bat for him? That alone tells me something is wrong with this guy.

Kodi Burns always gets bashed by Auburn fans who remember our shitty-to-mediocre receiving corps when he was here, blame all of those woes exclusively on him, haven't followed his career since he left, and wouldn't know where he's at now without a search engine.

I doubt he leaves where he's at, now.

NFL coaching receiver's for the Saints, so it's safe to say he isn't coming back in that role.

To the people wanting Frost, you do know he never practiced one's vs one's at Nebraska until around the week he was fired. He would be another disaster hire.

Damn! Dude wears stupid AFLAC gold chain and dances with a duck, on a nation-wide TV commercial, and some people thing he's beyond reproach when it comes to money?

You just don't get it. Sanders would work his butt off to make sure he is successful at coaching. He already has his several NFL coaches on his staff volunteering their time to help his team. You don't see coaches lining up for Gus or Harsin like that.

Gus landed into the perfect spot with the talent already there, he just needed to find a qb. Now compare the results to when Gus had to recruit the players on his own. He turned into 8-5 Gus.

Sanders and it's not even close. People are forgetting that FSU nearly pulled the trigger on him. He could care less about the money and wouldn't be trying to rob us like Gus did. If people take the time to look at what he has done at Jackson St its actually impressive to turn that place around from a losing program to a winning one with a limited amount of resources.

I have no idea if this guy is worth anything, all I do know is he donates a lot of money to Auburn. He’s at my in laws lake condo all week this week and he said that in Masons exit interview, Mason stated that Harsin was a racist.

They were friends who had went on vacations together in the past so how can he be a racist?

Seen better running from the quad.

What's wrong with the staff? I think it's pretty strong.

Honestly just not a fan of Bobo, he hasn't done anything of note lately.

You should check the recruiting thread sometime

I usually do but I haven't checked on it lately.

Our average commit ranking is 7th right now in the league. The reason for our dead last ranking is due to the # of commits compared to others in the league that have larger classes.

It still needs to improve but it’s not abysmal like you’re trying to imply.

Where are the commitments from O Linemen? We aren't going to beat the better teams until we get some quality guys playing that position.

Saban was 7-6 his first year and lost to LaMo. Coastal Carolina has a damn good football team, how did they rank in recruiting the last 4 years?

All I'm saying is, Harsin fired a no name coach who's biggest job to date, was at Troy. The guy that replaced him is a serious upgrade. His resume blows Corns out of the water.

The difference is Saban proved his SEC chops at LSU before taking on and rebuilding Bama. Plus he was aided by the REC in buying all the talent he needed.

That's kinda my point, why not demote the guy and tell him look around at the end of the season? Then you avoid the media circus.

It's too early to tell but anyone who has been around CFB for anytime whatsoever is a bit concerned with Harsin. To be fair the same would be said of Gus after 2014.

All of my friends are worried about his lack of recruiting. If he doesn't get that fixed he won't be at Auburn for long. I like the guy but he didn't himself any favors with his first staff at Auburn.
quote:

You said up and coming right? He had some receivers with some decent production at Troy. He was getting a reputation for being a good recruiter. He had connections in Bama and surrounding areas. Harsin needed local recruiting. It's obvious Williams mishandled his role and then some to be fired so quickly. It wasn't merely because he wanted his guy in there.

I know this because my nephew has done it for the last 15 years. He is now at a D1 as an OC in the WAC conference 2 years now. It's a grueling life especially with a family Crisscrossing through the country. He has moved 8 times in that 15 years and his longest stay was three years.

He was the receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Troy. How do you think that's going to go now with those connections? Harsin is an outsider and he can't come in stepping on everyone's toes because it will bite him. We are last in recruiting in the SEC right now, so whatever he is doing on that front isn't working.

Best of luck to your nephew.

What if there were budget constraints from having to pay the equivalent of a small country GDP to Gus Malzahn?

You guys are missing my point that Harsin just wasted over $600k on this hire. All I'm saying is demote the guy, give him some more training, or coaching. Since he had his old coach as an analyst this would have been easy to do and then tell the guy to find something at the end of the season. It was one of his guys who was in position to make the game winning catch.
quote:

He's a State of Alabama guy and we needed a young, black, guy from the state on the staff. There is a reason we gave him a two year contract when most position coaches are on 1 year deals.

Zac Ethridge says hello, what else you got?
Don't you have a towel to wave.....

Agree

The message I think is...........you are making damn good money. Do your job. Make sure your players know their assignments. If you can't do that, you won't be a part of this program. Basically, he is holding people accountable. I have no problem with that.

If that's the truth then he has a lot more people on staff to fire. About the only coaches safe are special teams and running backs.
