Can we focus on the matter at hand?

Beating Auburn at home by as many points as humanly possible is what matters Saturday. I don't give two shites the problems we have. I don't give two shites the 1 in 1,000 chance that we make the playoffs. I don't currently care about Bob or Pete Golding or whether Simpson gets a fair shake at QB next year. I want to make Auburn's existence a living hell for 3 hours on Saturday afternoon. Those of us who will be in the stadium have the opportunity to help do that. All of this talk about anything other than that is silliness. For the first time in 15 years the only thing on the line in the Iron Bowl for both teams is winning the Iron Bowl. And if you don't think that matters, just try and fvck around and lose on Saturday and see how much it matters.
A win Saturday would be 3 in a row (only the 3nd 3 in a row for Saban at Alabama), 4 of 5 and 7 of 9. It would continue our dominance in Tuscaloosa.

Auburn is not as good a football team as us. They've run on emotion for 2 weeks to squeak out a win against A&M and win against a middle of the pack CUSA team. However, that has given them a whole boat load of "Auburn Spirit" energy. Thank frickin goodness. Let them bring that shite on Saturday. Let's focus our energy on that nonsense. Break that shite. Break their Fambulah Coach Caddy bullshite. Leave no damn doubt.

If a simple Alabama/Auburn game where controlling the damn state for 364 days doesn't resonate with you then go talk to your papa or your grandpapa. Go find some games on youtube. Get your damn mind right.

This feels more like a 90s or early 2000s Iron Bowl. Pride is all this game means, but damnit, that's a lot of meaning.

Meh. This is the least I've ever cared about an iron bowl.

I don't even know how to respond to that, but I hope the 100,000 in the stadium don't feel the same way. Unfortunately, based on reading the tea leaves, I'm guessing the atmosphere will reflect that. And we'll waste a home field advantage and live up to our reputation. Were any of you around for Iron Bowls in the 90s when the most that was on the line was a berth in Atlanta to be a 10-20 pt underdog to Florida or Tennessee? I'm just perplexed at the total not a give a shite attitude about this game - or even more so the belief that we're somehow just gonna lose.

To each his own.

The whole thing has become playoff or bust since it arrived. No one knows the mindset of the players but my gut tells me they care less than they would if the playoffs were still on the table. It creates a meh situation that we aren't accustomed to.

I was around. Not saying I don't care about the iron bowl this year, just saying the level is less than it's ever been. I love bama, hate Auburn, etc. But these coordinators and lack of focus on physically dominating opponents just makes me sad. It's kind of like I'm in the acceptance stage of grief

I'm excited. We will be there yelling and screaming. And yes, I'm an old lady who was at the Punt Bama, Punt game in '72 and lots of Iron Bowls since. And yes, we have been spoiled the last 15 years since CNS has been our coach. But good or bad years, the Iron Bowl is special. And I hope the 90,000 plus Bama fans there Saturday will be loud and cause a lot of disruption to those Tigers!!

I hope we beat the cult barn. But, not to beat a dead horse, I just can't get real excited about any game these 2 coordinators coach. I just want this season over to see what changes Saban makes and what the team looks like next year. The faster the reboot happens the better.

Bama has to win this game. It is going to be a damn struggle and I look for us to be behind heading into the 4th.

Layton: Its Good! Van Tiffin has won the ballgame!

Best Iron Bowl that I’ve ever seen. Forgotten fact… Gelks out rushed Jackson in that game. Bo went on to win the heisman.

I’ll be at BDS, screaming my head off.

It’s not the season we wanted but it’s what we have.

Let’s win and see if the stars align for us.

The radio call on the play before was even better to me. They went full homer. Richardson catches it and they start yelling "get out of bounds man, get out of bounds!"

For drama, it was great but the year before was my most memorable one.

Alabama 4-6, first losing season since Ears walked the sidelines. Auburn 8-2, sitting 1/2 game ahead of LSU in the conference (Florida was undefeated but on probation), and planning a trip to the Sugar Bowl.

Bo runs the wrong way, McGinty shanks a kick, and instead of the jazz of New Orleans Auburn gets the Memphis blues.

That was my second freshman year and I was at Legion Field that night... probably my favorite Iron Bowl memory.
