this made-up shite with TAMU sucks. LSU and Arky had a good holiday dislike for each other and played some great games.
Hopefully, when Texas comes into the SEC, they can resume their Thanksgiving rivalry with the Aggies.

Make Missouri play Oklahoma.

They will have Texas play A&M as the last game of the year for both.
Missouri and Oklahoma won't happen as the last game of the year and so the Missouri and Arkansas games won't change unless Missouri wants to play Kansas again.

Bring back LSU-Arky post Thanksgiving and bring Verne out of retirement for that one game a year

For competition and tv views I assume that LSU will have to play a thanksgiving game with
OU or
Texas
You can’t leave a big six team out there with a low tier team on rivalry week.
Tennessee already plays Vandy. The rest of the East big 6 plays the ACC

Some of my best (&worst) memories were being at those games. Always rowdy & noisy, but still seemed quieter with all the women off shopping.

Was a lot of great games. Felt like part of the holiday here in the Rock on Black Friday.
They will be replacing Mizzou as our rivalry weekend opponent. You are trapped with the ever pretending aggies.

Losing this game was a tragedy but when you're irrelevant and suck, it is what it is.

More than anything, THIS. I don't care if it's LSU or Texas, I just don't wanna play Mizzou in what's supposed to be a rivalry game. At least there is history with LSU. Even before the SEC.
Mizzou this week is just the SEC saying "You guys are rivals now".

When you have zero political clout then that what happens. If both schools wanted to have the game remain the same then both schools should have spoken up but didn't happen.

This is an aspect of the “3 permanent opponents” that folks miss.
Everyone needs a game on rivalry weekend. 4 east teams play ACC opponents; iron bowl. Egg bowl, Vandy-Tenn are a given. It’s seems obvious that Texas & A&M will play too.
Which leaves Oklahoma, LSU, Arkansas and Missouri. I could definitely see LSU-Arkansas being brought back and OU playing Mizzou.

I think you have it backwards. The LSU/Arkansas “rivalry” was as made up as it gets. It could be a top 10 matchup between the two and LSU fans never really cared.
LSU/A&M on the other hand is two fanbases who genuinely don’t like each other.
