Sure you get the easy win from the East most of the time but it's one less big game that you could have. I absolutely love playing Florida and it's probably my favorite game of the year.
Would y'all rather have one of the traditional Big Dogs?

Yep. Even though they play us tough every now and then, I’d rather have that easy win than having to worry about UGA or Florida. I guess playing Tennessee regularly would be about the same but a bigger stadium to visit

No. Although the teams have played a lot, it's not a "rivalry." I wish we played Tennessee every season instead.

frick an easy win.

They beat us too often unfortunately. It’d be nice to have a more routine bigger game at home every 2 years though.

Sure do...however, 2007-2012 were not to great when we went 1-5

I liked playing Tennessee last season and Kentucky this season

We are having a small run right now, but historically we need that W. LSU, Bama, AU and an OOC is enough big games most years.

Meh. It’s rare the game means anything. When they had James Franco I was getting to where I genuinely disliked them but it’s been sad times for them since. So does the increased chance for an SEC win make it worth the lack of meaningful game? 50/50 feeling for me personally I guess.
I’d rather play Tennessee every year. We don’t get to play them much anymore and used to play them a whole lot historically

I get it but I mean the 6 programs who do have a big time permanent have won 16 National Championships since expansion

No not really. If we are good enough to compete for the division it isn’t going to matter much whether it’s Tennessee or Vanderbilt we are playing. They are more valuable for us to play in seasons we are struggling to get to 6 wins imo, which are about worthless these days

I'm just glad James Franco got tired of coaching Vandy and decided to go to Hollywood instead.
Seriously, though, Vandy is OM's third longest rivalry. Just behind State and LSU. Dates all the way back to the 1890's, and between then and the 1930's, Vandy was very good. We lost about 30 games to them way back then. Since joining the SEC, however, OM has won most of them. I have been to several games in their stadium, and we usually outnumbered the Vandy fans.

It's one of the oldest game series in the SEC. I like history.
