Both seem like they are vast improvements over their predecessors.

Still kinda early, but both look promising.

Idk man, that Utah win was impressive. But I also think about the fact that LSU had 39 scholarship players for the bowl game and had a wr playing qb. So to see the changes we’ve seen at lsu are very impressive as well.

Seriously what Kelly has done so far with taking a roster with 39 scholarship players (and we are still only at 72 now) and being 2 points for undefeated with the amount of transfers playing and an oline with 2 true FR. at right and left guard and 4-5 FR on defense…I would give an A

Napier is being a little over criticized IMO. 1-2 vs Utah, UK, and Tenn is not bad especially since they were all close.

Haven't watched any LSU other than the second half of the Florida State game.
In terms of Napier, it would have to be an Incomplete because he's a Saban disciple and it's Year 1, and Saban and Saban disciples never have good seasons in Year 1. The only worry I'd have if I was a Florida fan would be going for a 2 point conversion when you're down 11 points. That was just completely bizarre. There's no way of explaining it.

Can't argue with a B for each, but really it is just incomplete. Both schools should be happy with their hires.

B+ at the worst.
Team gets better every week.
They're more disciplined and healthier.
He was able to rebuild 2 seasons worth of washout in 1 off-season.
Only legitimate knocks are that it's inexcusable for special teams to have been that bad from go and that the playcalling has not always been tuned to help out a QB with the limitations we've got.
Daniels is getting better week to week, and the special teams are improving, but we still don't have a good kicker.

Both are sub par in my opinion.
Coming into the season with a good gameday coach you'd expect LSU to be 4-0 and UF 3-1. With UF at 2-2 and LSU at 3-1 both have failed at that.
I'd say both are c-minus so far.
By "expect"... I'm using the "Mark Richt as your head coach" measure... not Steve Spurrier or Urban Meyer or Nick Saban or someone incredible. Just a Good "B+" level coach like Richt.

Napier's behavior and risky play calling in the last game are concerning. He's trending downward.
Kelly has righted the ship, but he needs to show up in big-time games.

Too soon to know for Napier. But Kelly's a chronic, unclutch underperformer so he's doing about as well as expected.
The ceiling's unknown with Billy Napier. Kelly reached his a couple of years ago.

Kelly = A+ (very flukey 1 point loss to good team, offense and defense seem to be getting better every week)
Napier = F- (could easily be 0-4, ruining a QB that was projected to go in the Top 15, looking like a fool trying to fight people)

Not really.
Beating State at home doesn't mean jackshit to anybody.

The “Kelly can’t recruit” crowd definitely went AWOL, that’s for sure.

If he does any better than 4-4 over ROS I'll be thrilled, and he'll have won a couple big games to get there.
