Question about defense for experts and football efficianados

Currently Georgia's defense is No. 1 nationally in points per game and 13th in yards per game. Georgia's defense also is dead last nationally in sacks and 88th in tackles for loss.
Tactically, how is this possible and what sort of voodoo is this?

It means they have only beat shitty arse offenses so far. Did you not watch the SC game? And Oregon is a soft finesse team.

because they stuff people behind the lines when they try to run da bawl, and when people throw it they either throw it away due to coverage, throw it away due to pressure, have poor accuracy because of pressure, or the 3 QBs they played had a really off day on top of their D mugging wrs at the line, and their front 7 running a protection racket on the Opposing O line.

Thanks for your expert insight. Really goofy and pointless, but thanks.

We are able to pressure with 4 fairly consistently.
So the offensive gameplans have basically been 2 step drops.
Because teams aren't holding the ball in the pocket, we haven't been blitzing much either (defend the screens and sidelines).

All I know is that Kirby has always had the worst third and long defense in all the football.

The 3 teams we’ve played so for haven’t trusted their oline to protect the QB and haven’t shown any ability to run the ball, so no play action. Opposing QBs mostly only attempting quick drop/rpo passes. Ball out in 3 seconds type stuff. UGA has the athletes to play man on the outside and the linebackers to match anybodys tight ends. Makes it very tough.
We also require our Front 7 to play extremely disciplined (gap sound) defense. Kirby doesn’t give a shite about sacks unless they happen within the system (aka the reason he asked Brenton Cox to move on). Check UGAs QB pressure stats. We’ve missed a sack opportunity or two, but we’ve affected the QB plenty.

Ga only score 3 points against Samford in the second half. Their cheerleaders should have scored more than that.

Sacks are obviously great but as long as a defense can routinely force offenses to make bad decisions, it’s just as effective.

Absolutely no Georgia fan has ever had this complaint over the last 6 seasons. Must be a Saban thing.

Gap control in the run game, and rushing four in the passing game. If you don't make Kirby blitz he won't. If you can't get open he doesn't need to. Plus, I don't believe UGA has played very good offenses thus far. I'm not taking anything away from Georgia because they may be the defense in the nation, but if teams can't force Kirby to adjust due to stressing the defense then he never will.

It means that they're a solid defense at every position and don't have to take risks to get results.

It's the same thing teams have been scheming against Alabama. They're throwing a lot of quicker, shorter passes to try and avoid the rush

I would also say that I can't even keep up with who is playing defense for GA by the 4th quarter of the games so far.

Oregon is 38th in the country in scoring (after putting up 3 points against the Dawgs in week 1)
South Carolina doesn't have a good offense but they did score 30 on Arkansas.
We are seeing a repeat of 2021 with regards to the comments about UGA.
Prior to the game, everyone is capable of doing some damage to our defense. After the game, they suck and no one should have expected anything.

This tells me they aren't testing UGA deep, probably because they have played inaccurate qb's so far. This also tells me they never stood a chance. The achilles heel in the Smart defense is that they play a lot of man, and an accurate qb with a quick release and a good wr can beat them deep. Smart's defenses are also vulnerable to qb scrambles. because they blitz a lot and can over pursue a qb on a designed qb draw, for example.
