Is Harsin’s messaging just all talk?

He talks about hard nosed, disciplined football, and execution.
We can’t run 5 basic plays. Gus got a lot of shite for having 8-12 plays but we could run those plays. We can’t run the inside zone, the inside power except Robby QB run, outside zone. Much less trying to run an inside split zone which Penn State killed us on inside the 10. We can’t throw a screen, no bubble or tunnel screens, no timing routes that I have seen like a 7 yard out.
We have 5th and 6th year seniors on the OL that can’t pickup a twist? Who would have thought that Manny Diaz was gonna stunt, twist, and blitz?

At this point KISS. Keep it simple stupid.

On the other side I’m not sure what our defense is trying to do. I don’t even understand the concept we are trying to run. It’s all bad

He is saying that a bunch of you jacked off when Harsin started because you loved his press conferences. Gave info, no coach talk, bla bla bla.

In the end, it was just all talk

That post was a lot of words when all you needed was the last three

But you’re right, it’s unfathomable how lost we appeared on both sides of the ball yesterday.

I have to give Coach Roc some credit we can at least run special teams this year without multiple penalties each game.

There is our one improvement on the year. Everything else is worse

Keionte Scott as the punt returner has been decent.

Roc was quick to pull the trigger on Var and replacing him with Scott.

Witness a TE pulling from the end to block air in the middle of the line while his QB was running for his life.

Pan on shades Harsin on the sideline... blank expression on his face.

Corch, I know we have issues due to talent on OL, but do the run blocking schemes look bad to you? They just don’t look right. What are they doing?

Lol it’s not a lack of fundamentals. It’s the shitty recruiting classes that Gus left in his last two years combined with the awful roster management by Harsin letting Bo Nix and Kobe Hudson transfer along with his total duds in the transfer portal and pretty poor recruiting himself in the 2022 and 2021 classes. A large part of that being because the boosters don’t want to pay recruits for a coach they never wanted.

I’ll give Caddy credit too. Tank is seeing things much better this year (on the rare occasion something is there).

But I agree with the premise of your thread. That was the least fundamentally sound football I’ve seen since 2012. It wasn’t even that guys were just getting whooped (they definitely were). PSU plain outschemed us, and what they were doing wasn’t complicated. Put speed on the edge, twist in the middle to put out 280lb center in a bind, and when we go to a two tight set just send an A gap blitz. On offense all they had to do was go quick game to pass and go to some 2-3 tight sets and knew we would stay in nickel so they could just put physical us.

Corch that is the most frustrating part. I get we dont have the talent of Georgia. But half their team went to the NFL last year, and this new squad looks like they have been playing together for six years!

We have sixth year players that look lost.

Not arguing the thread at all but no one knows why Bo finally left. If Harsin deserves the blame then fine, but Kobe Hudson hasn’t played a game yet for UCF, how has he become a must have out of all of this. How would having Kobe help what happened yesterday. Our OL is just downright horrible. Troxell scores so low he couldn’t even make Jang’s PFF thread.

Our QB’s are inconsistent as hell and Ashford struggles a lot in passing. Finley is not much better. How many turnovers are we at now. Bo would have struggled heavily in this offense with that OL. It is my opinion that is why Bo left. He had to for a chance to show he can play at a high level. Oregon has given him that and he was never returning to finish at Auburn. That’s my opinion.

Talent and unable to execute. Plus the way you attack
What Penn states front was doing is run right at it and run counters. They were slanting on the front a counter flows the backers and then cuts back. So a combination of bad football. And you can’t turn the ball over 4 times

I think you're lying to validate your narrative.

Lying about a major college football team having basic "coaching" issues, which is absurd. We have QB efficiency issues. Solve that, we win. I think you're a coach so you know this.

This is so crucial.

The third and goal turnover from the 21 is on the coaches.

Run it. Kick FG. Hope they fumble kickoff.

We are not very talented, but even an untalented team can compete by:
1. No turnovers
2. Limiting penalties.
3. Limiting big plays by them.
4. Creating some big plays.
5. Great kicking game.

We are only 1 for 5. Carlson and Chapman are great. Scott is a decent punt returner.

IF we get to 6-6, I will be amazed.

Can’t disagree with that. I think we attempted to pass 48 times Saturday. We didn’t pass that much because of pressure and running out of pressure. We are not built to throw 40 times a game. 40 runs 25 passes. Protect the football. Hang on and try to win I. The 4th qtr.

Which has been horrible. I wonder what our 4th quarter scoring difference looks like since MSU last season? We gotta be close to -100
