As others have said, and as we've hashed out here, I just don't think Kiffin's salary is the issue

I think we are gonna do whatever it takes this time to get our guy. Ole Miss is having to make this offer so they can tell the fans that are gonna melt we did all we could. They can’t match the money, facilities, NIL, fan base and history. Watch Kiffins presser after the Bama game. If he is serious about all that he has to take the AU job.

To anyone new to the Auburn coach search thing, right now is the exact point where things start to get nuts. Buckle up.

The tweet says OM’s offer would make him top 10 in salary. Someone else pointed out below that he’s currently 11th? So we’re not talking much more money

Add on top of that, OM is limited on years they can offer plus the NIL situation. Not sure they can fix those issues if all of that happens to be true

That's two things that don't usually happen.

He would do well at Auburn. No guarantee he even would want to follow Sabans footsteps.

If he left in a few years then so what? Hopefully we are in a better spot. Kiffin would be longer term hopefully.

Either way we shouldnt make a hire based on when someone may leave

I did't say we should base the hire on that but dumbo leaving us hanging after a year to two if he got the gig is a real possibility, No guarantee he wouldn't want to follow Satan either... Hard pass for me dog!

We knew the offer from Ole Miss was coming, this is no surprise. We need offer whatever it takes. It comes down to how bad do we want to win again. The days of hiring guys at discounted prices needs to be over. Let’s get a Kiffin and start winning again!

Seems like a solid choice, he's familiar with AU, knows about the NIL and has a nice tie or two in the area.

He has a hot posse of babes that come along with the deal.

Is Clesi coming back? Would Clesi coming back help us get Lane?

Some tweets saying it's around 9.5/yr. Stout, but nothing to really change the situation.

I don’t know where to find all the numbers but I’d love someone to look at the buyouts paid + annual compensation for time served divided by the time actually served for Gus and Harsin and see the average annual pay we gave both of them. Would be a funny exercise

Strikes me as the minimum offer they’d have to make

Indeed. And who knows if that's the real number or if it can be improved on easily.
