ESPN reporting "mutual interest" between Lanning and AU. Lanning was asked about it today. Here's his quote:
Hard to tell from his response what's true. He didn't outright deny it, but certainly didn't leave the door open as much as Lane and Freeze have.

"First, I will say things like this are going to come up when you have team success, and you do your job and things go the way they're supposed to go. That's credit really to our team. I think there's a little bit of a problem in society today with people looking for what's next and where there's an opportunity. The reality is the grass is not always greener. In fact, the grass is damn green in Eugene."

Lanning would be very good.
UGA fans are more vocal (ie nervous) about us getting him than others. He’s a Kirby clone

Yesterday chuck Oliver did everything but outright say it’s Freeze. He was heavily implying it and it seemed like he knew something.

Chuck Oliver is an AU graduate and heavily plugged into ATlanta sports knowledge.
Who knows though

Oh I know, Chuck is the man and one of the only ones I actually listen to. He is humble and knows his stuff. Just the way he was saying it sounded like he knew something.

If we’re wise we’ll pay what it takes to get Lanning, get all hands on deck to get NIL running like a machine, and let Lanning and crew build the roster with all available resources.

Chuck Oliver loves Real Burgers and big Brutus Coors Light from Applebees. Please consider that when you consider him as a source

Absolutely nothing is coming out of AU right now. Tight lips right now. That could mean a couple things they are still laying out a plan on who to go after first or already have a gentleman’s agreement with someone.

I wouldn't be crazy excited about Lanning but I'd rather him over Freeze or Rhule.
Can he bring Bo back with him?

I will be happy with anyone not named Grimes, Elko, or Lashlee (within reason)

This is not directed at you Poker but can we please stop with the we are a bust if we don’t get so and so or we are gonna suck if this coach gets the head coaching job.
A lot factors into hiring a coach. The head coaching hire is the easy part. The staff is where it happens at. The head coach is gonna be set for life. How attractive are we to assistants. Are we gonna pony up and put the best staff together is much more important. Sure some head coaches sell themselves like a Kiffin but he has had some horrible defensive coordinators. Can he get a great DC? And will he stop going for on 4th and 4 to protect his defense some. Or will he prioritize building more depth at defense then offense because of how he calls plays? I have no interest in Ole Miss’ defensive coordinator that 3-2-6 crap he runs is horrible

When I say no to Grimes there is reasoning behind it, and yes he would fail. Tell me why Elko is a great hire.

How you can be happy with Lanning and not Rhule baffles me
