Wasted money.
Spend it on offensive and defensive lineman.
No priorities.

Sick. Although I would stress that words have meaning….

beginner-level mountain bike trail

Oh. Ok

Eta: if I wasn't clear I think this is super cool to have on campus. My gripe was with the writer and that typical hyperbole, not the project itself.

Arkansas fans and mountain bikes should go together like water and oil. I applaud his effort though

Instead of water stations along the route, they have biscuits’n gravy stations.

Would be better to build an actual mountain bike course in the nearby woods. That thing is hardly world class and barely a mountain bike park. I would put mountain bike in quotes. Would be better to spend that money making the whole campus bike friendly.

I've been mountain biking and hiking up there in the last year more than once. I have a kid in school. No pics. I think this is more of interest in biking safely around campus more than anything. But some of the elements they're adding I'm sure will be pretty cool.

Yeah that's cool and all, but does your campus have a river running through it?

World class isn't a misprint either. The trails are well maintained with a lot of wooden structures built in. Millions poured into them.

Bentonville is the mountain bike capital of the world. Fayetteville just has a small sample

To the aggy, Texans drive hours to ride Bentonville because spyder mountain is a shithole

Coming from an old competitive MTB racer, this will be very cool, especially considering the elevation changes in Fayetteville and the surrounding area. Really glad money is being spent to take advantage of the topography.

Having said that, nothing about the article screams world class MTB trail, other than they put it in the title. If it's a shared-use trail (meaning bikers, hikers, runners, & adaptive bikes), it's not going to be a world class MTB trail.

The article also specifies that the entire 18 miles are beginner level. As with skiing, to be world class, you're gonna have to offer more than bunny slopes.

Love it. Just set realistic expectations up front.
