If the SEC expands to 20 or 24 I assume we would do 2 or 4 divisions

You think?
Especially if we go to 24 would seem nearly necessary

I still don’t think we’d go to divisions regardless. If it’s 20 teams, you’d play 3 annually, 8 biannually, and 1 non-conference for a total of 12 games. If we go to super conferences, the days of playing G5 and FCS teams are over. If they go beyond 20, they’ve have to add more games to the season and drop the SECCG.

If the SEC expands to 20 teams, I'm fricking done. That's 2 conferences worth of teams.

Four divisions is the better option as it gives maximum flexibility in scheduling.

College football, much less the SEC, is damn near dead as it is.

Not at all. Players have been paid for decades, just not in the open. The portal will help disperse talent making teams more competitive.
These first few years will be interesting, then it’ll settle down. I enjoy college football and this or politics isn’t going to ruin it for me.

Let's just do two 12 team divisions; the pre-2012 12 can be in one and the other scrubs can be in another

Who’s we? What team do you play for, and what is your jersey number?

Hooray for playing teams you don't give a shite about!

On second thought, if you had 24 teams you could have 4 divisions of 6. Play everyone in your division annually, then two each from the other three divisions, and a non-conference game for a total of 12 games. You’d be able to play every team at least once every three years and trade home-and -homes every 6. That’s not bad.

Five divisions of four in the SEC and Big 10. Play your division and play two of the other four divisions each year. Go down to one non conference game.
Play NFL style playoff with all division winners and one wild card making the playoff. Winner of the SEC plays the winner of the Big 10 in the championship.
Teams that aren’t part of that group of 40 adopt an FCS style playoff and we essentially have three classifications within D1 CFB.

No, 20 is perfect. We can split into SEC originals and SWC with all the newer arrivals. Plus Aggies will melt when they have to exchange their SEC patches for SWC ones.
