Well texas....Enjoy 4 years of commentators mentioning who his family is every game.
I still hear in my sleep "jake Bentley missed his prom to go to SC, and should still be in HS"

As a diehard Longhorn fan for more than 30 years, I'll believe this sticks when he makes his first start.

I kind of like his simple approach to this.
He already has the name, no need to hype himself up more.
How is he as a kid? Is he a good kid or a "shite don't stink" type?

Well, congrats to Texas. I was hoping he'd be a dawg but I wish him nothing but the best in his time there.

Not surprising. Had a buddy several years ago on Alabama’s staff that told me the Mannings had a great relationship with Sark and Arch really liked him. He’s been saying the entire time he would be shocked if he went anywhere else

I think it says a lot that he’s a blue collar role player for the basketball team

I seriously don't know how you're coming up with this based on his recruitment

Yep - would take Sark getting fired basically. They really like him.

I'm coming up with it based on the history of good things happening for Texas.

What’s the Sark appeal?
He was mediocre at Washington.
His best season ever was 9-4 at USC.
He hasn’t had a winning season yet at Texas.
$o what i$ the $ark appeal?

The appeal is that he was an elite OC at Bama with elite talent.
I would assume the assumption is he will get elite offensive players (he is with the QBs already) to come play and Texas is obviously one of the premier brands in CFB
I think Ewers is not going to be great. Based on reports at OSU he seemed disinterested during the year. Of course could be because he went early and had no shot of starting, but he has growing up to do. I don't see that as the right attitude to be an elite QB which is one of the harder positions in all of sports

Have heard he is a good teammate and is a good kid.

Poor kid. None of the Mannings have won anything at the college level. I'm thrilled to follow the drama at Texas with this kid and Ewers. It should at the least be entertaining.
But congrats anyway, tsips!

It predated that. I think it started with him being reared in the pass happy BYU system and working with Norm Chow at USC. He has the QB whisperer label since his earliest days.
Here are comments when he was hired at Washington in 2008.
quote:
Sarkisian was one of the best quarterbacks in college football when he played for BYU back in the early nineties. He comes from the Lavell Edwards/Norm Chow School of coaching. He played under Norm at BYU and coached with him at USC.
He earned his way through the coaching ranks as a QB guru with an impressive resume that includes Carson Palmer and Matt Leinhart. Steve Sarkisian understands how to coach quarterbacks and that is good news if you happen to be Jake Locker, or the next Montlake Jake in waiting, Skyline's Jake Heaps. He should be able to get a quantum leap of improvement in this area next year for Washington.

He's been the QB coach for like 7 first round picks (idk the exact number, but it's a lot).

Congrats to the young man. Wish him nothing but success unless he plays Georgia.
