Maybe some weird fetish. I dunno...

Congrats to Horns. Hopefully it won't end in a bunch of drama. I think he ends up transferring but that assumes Sark fails to stop the bleeding. If he can, Manning could go down in the record books. Who transfers out ultimately Manning or Ewers?
I think Horns are gonna compete well for the #1 ranking 2023 class against Ags.
Saban is scared for a reason as the Ags and Horns have endless resources. We may have extreme brotherly hate at timed but I can see big time Texan influenced hanges within the SEC in 5-10 years.

The appeal is that he was an elite OC at Bama with elite talent.
I would assume the assumption is he will get elite offensive players (he is with the QBs already) to come play and Texas is obviously one of the premier brands in CFB
I think Ewers is not going to be great. Based on reports at OSU he seemed disinterested during the year. Of course could be because he went early and had no shot of starting, but he has growing up to do. I don't see that as the right attitude to be an elite QB which is one of the harder positions in all of sports
How did that last quarterback at OSU that transfer to LSU do? I guess might it be that OSU didn't give him the time or that the team was nowhere near as good as the team that won the Championship? Might it be getting the right overall players to make it work. It didn't work well for OSU for a while now.

It predated that. I think it started with him being reared in the pass happy BYU system and working with Norm Chow at USC. He has the QB whisperer label since his earliest days.
Here are comments when he was hired at Washington in 2008.
quote:
Sarkisian was one of the best quarterbacks in college football when he played for BYU back in the early nineties. He comes from the Lavell Edwards/Norm Chow School of coaching. He played under Norm at BYU and coached with him at USC.
He earned his way through the coaching ranks as a QB guru with an impressive resume that includes Carson Palmer and Matt Leinhart. Steve Sarkisian understands how to coach quarterbacks and that is good news if you happen to be Jake Locker, or the next Montlake Jake in waiting, Skyline's Jake Heaps. He should be able to get a quantum leap of improvement in this area next year for Washington.
That is called "the good old days". Doesn't mean he is still the same quarterback guru he was back in the good old days. Texas couldn't even beat lowly Kansas last year! How is he still the quarterback guru from last year and couldn't beat Kansas?

You should have hired Cutcliffe if you seriously wanted him.

Hard pass on hiring Cut to get Arch.

That's what he said to Georgia.

That’s actually kinda funny. Almost as funny as Texas’ record vs Kansas the last ten years. Still pretty good though.

Yeah, losing to Kansas sucks. We kicked your arse though so it's not all bad.

Wasn’t Texas supposed to be back after that huge win? How have things gone since then for both teams?

Totally agree . . .his rep is obviously exaggerated and his first year in Austin was a shambling s#$tshow featuring backbiting players, monkeys biting children, players leaking to the media and on and on and on.
But his pass happy scheme will appeal to kids in this modern age of football and he is sure to draw some elite QBs and WRs.
The rest of the team will be a question mark. Defense, offensive line, and special teams were all a huge mess last year.

WTF kind of a comment is this? It doesn't even make grammatical sense.
Burrow got beat out, partially due to an injury (he has admitted as much because Haskins came into the Michigan game and played well), but Haskins was a first rounder. Burrow was fine in 2018 but not a for sure top player in the NFL type of year. His jump in 2019 was incredible.
Are you saying you think Ewers is going to be the #1 pick in the NFL draft and comparing him to Burrow?
I'm trying to decipher what you said so I could be as inaccurate and vague as you, but I tried to do better

Hmm, national champs with multiple trips to the playoffs vs picking up a good qb and constantly losing to the worst P5 program? I’ll take example A. Enjoy your mediocrity

Good enough. Scoreboard.

Are you seriously insinuating you would have rather win that game than win a National Championship and go to the playoffs a couple of times?
I may have figured out what's wrong with Texas football.

Probably. But i also think he will bring some good recruits to Texas and will have a very good career at Texas. He should be able to get them back headed in the right direction, at the very least.
It was a good pickup for Texas and we were wishing we had pulled him. They did a good job recruiting him.

To insinuate is to hint at something, so no, I'm not insinuating anything. What I was saying was good job on your wins and your title, but the last time we met on the field we kicked your arse and yesterday we took your QB recruit. Capisce?
