Agreed. Staying an hour away for a 3 game series means 6 hours on the road, not counting driving to and. From the airport or air travel. For tournaments and series you want to be close.

Not a legit gripe.

Auburn had a lot stacked against them and their fans in general. No doubt about that.
Time difference, late starting games on TV, hot accommodation mess, etc.
Still pulled off the wins needed and advanced. Much respect.
War Eagle.

At the end of the day, we all know lower seeded teams get the disadvantage. Price you pay for not winning more games.

How? Apparently, even the broadcast crew verified it during the games. The ESPN crew also had to stay an hour away. Sounds like you're full of shite.

Baseball three game series vs a single football game.. proximity is needed

It’s not like the players ride a bus to Oregon , they flew charter. I’m sure they were fine.
Butch said they hotel wasn’t an issue; you just want to find something to complain about!
The hotel was probaly nicer where they stayed!

Love Sonny D but let’s be real - how much would a strained hamstring really slow him down? He runs with a piano on his back as it is.

There was a track meet in Eugene and graduation in Corvallis. The hotels were booked well in advance. It really wasn't OSU's fault, it was the NCAA's fault. The hotels were already booked before the Super Regional site was known. Don't host where you know accommodations are going to be booked up.
I'm sure it was a pain to do those three round trip bus rides, but it wasn't the end of the world and it didn't stop Auburn from winning a hard fought series.

The hotels in Corvallis were not available. Apparently the rooms were gobbled up by fans before AU knew they were going.
This was discussed at length on Saturday night during the broadcast. OSU should’ve been forced to block 30 rooms as a host team. Not that difficult.
I thought part of putting in a bid was locking down hotels for traveling teams

Was the team over an hour away or the fans?

Off topic but did you guys see how awful Stanford’s facilities were? Good grief, how can these schools that don’t invest in their program keep up.

I do sympathize with you, Auburn. It's a shame, really.
Now, what is Auburn going to do when visitors come to Auburn for a game and have to stay in Montgomery or Columbus or dare say, as far away as Atlanta (which the USC Trojans football team had to do when playing at Auburn in 2003 -- they still stomped you, though, 23-0!), in order to go to a game on the plains???
Don't complain about others till you fix what's wrong in your own backyard.

We already held a regional and didn't have any issues with accommodations.
