This has bothered me for years now and I am wondering if it gets under anybody else's skin as well.. When Paul Finebaum is featured on ESPN talking about games or anything else they have him listed as a college football analyst.. I know ESPN is pretty much now just a sports version of CNN spreading fake news but come on!!! I guess in todays society you can identify as whatever you want, but come on now.. I have never once heard Finebaum break down a play, tell me a coverage, he knows nothing about the X's and O's of the game and he is a analyst?? He is simply the Jerry Springer of college football, the callers of his show are the reason ESPN has given him large multi-year contracts.. He talks down on the very people that got him to where he is today, there is one thing he does that ESPN requires of all their employees.. He is a liberal snowflake, that has no problem pushing the fake news narrative!!

Well said, and I approve this message.

That’s the best worst picture I’ve ever seen.

Bammers made him popular.
He’d be a nobody without them.

Lots of sports "talking heads" have absolutely no idea how the games truly break down. Doesn't stop them from spouting inane opinions on the game *cough* Colin Cowherd *cough*

I would not call Finebaum a football analyst but rather a football observer, primarily of the Southeastern Conference.
Most of the people writing or talking about college football I would call observers rather than analysts. Finebaum's opinion is as valid as theirs.
I like to hear most of his guests but these idiot callers cause me to turn the channel faster than anything else. Some of them seem to be working with a fifth grade education and their knowledge of the game reflects that.

finebomb is a media whore who says what he thinks will inflame on one hand and impress on the other.

There are no qualifications for being an “analyst”

Finebaum has the talent to do real sports journalism. Instead he has gone the Jerry Springer route just for ratings. Show is beneath me, but could be so much better.

So true.
I don't begrudge the guy for making a living, but his product really is something to be less proud of enjoying. The ONLY goodness I ever heard when I frequented his show were the segments with the likes of Barbara Dooley / Gene Stallings / etc. I happened to tune in on my way home from work and at least weekly I would get those segments.
Past that, if it's unchanged since then, it really is the Jerry Springer of sports radio.

Anyone who needs an 'analyst' to explain to them what they are watching needs to follow a different sport. I wish the networks would offer an alternate audio feed with only the stadium sound so we wouldn't have to endure these talking heads.

Little children and old philistines have the Paul Finebaum lunacy for their fun and laughter. The price we pay for being sports fans (particularly Auburn fans) is that we must tolerate their unstinted pleasures in a game that defines their self-worth and personal dignity. WDE
