This is why in football conference champs don’t need an auto bid. All conferences are not equal. Winning CUSA is the same as finishing 6th in the sec. In football the 4th or 5th place sec team would win the ACC, the big 12 or the pac whatever. Football has it right. The 4 best teams. Not 4 conference champs. No Pitts at 8-4 winning the ACC gets in the playoffs. LSU is far and away the best team in this regional and should have been hosting ahead of southern frickin miss.

I have been screaming at windmills over this since the CFP was formed. It would be the single biggest participation trophy award in the history of college sports.
