No, it actually doesn't include control. "Stuff" is the combination of movement, velocity, and how the hitter perceives the pitch. But also, Mayers does not have the best stuff on the staff. We have at least 5 guys that throw as hard as him, and I don't think I've seen him throw anything other than a FB all year. Crazy take

Tennessee, as a program, took a long time to win a natty, that's for sure. 127 years?? that can't be right :rotflmao:

ya, 115 k's to 24 BB is horrendous. 3.9 ERA with a 1.77 FIP and a 3.8 ERA with a 2.68 FIP for your saturday and sunday guy. LSU has two guys with the 9th and 10th best FIP in the country... but their ERA isn't sub 2 at this point, so they'll struggle... idiot
I'm interested to hear why you don't think that's concerning. I'm sure they will improve, but so far we don't have a strong Sat/Sun guy, and our pen is struggling to throw strikes for the most part. For us to really have a hope in Omaha, we need one of Shores/Eyanson/Schmidt to step up big time. If not, I think we're looking at a pretty disappointing season compared to expectations.
what are you even saying lol? people that don't know baseball trying to talk to baseball will never not be funny
they have far and away the worst pitching/defense in the SEC, but their lineup is not bad. probably in the 10-12 range in the league
The least important part of a pitching coach's job is to call pitches. Developing guys so that they don't throw pitches two feet off the plate is far more important. He hasn't been very impressive in that aspect so far.
Ya, don't let the #1 HS catcher in the country improve defensively in meaningless games, to play a guy who will never see meaningful playing time at LSU. Sounds like a good idea to me

you have nothing better to do on a saturday night? I guess i can sympathize with why you're so weird.

How could you possibly think that the pitching has lived up to expectation thus far?

but both of them have more national titles than ole miss has in 62 years :rotflmao:
Bro, why are you always on here trying to impart your wisdom on the tiger rant? The closer, while it has been changed slightly due to baseball going more with matchups and using the best arm in the highest leverage, is still an extremely important part of any bullpen. Just bc a few different guys will earn saves doesn't mean that we won't have a guy that will be looked at to get the final few outs in important games. Guys usually perform better when they understand their role, and those roles will become evident as the season progresses.
berry was a better hitter than crews?? based on what exactly? 20 points in BA? berry was never close to crews in any aspect of the game, not just hitting, which is basically all berry was good for.
Of course you're going to get donvoted but it's just the truth right now. Obviously we won't know until SEC play gets going, but Tenn looks like the best team in the country rn. We have the talent to win it all, and it doesn't matter who's "the best" right now, just who's playing the best at the end.

Dude is just not a natural hitter. He looks like when a pitcher used to come to the plate in the NL.
reminds me of josh smith in a lot of ways. just a great baseball player.
Mcneese in the two years prior to Wade: 22-45. Mcneese with Wade: 52-10.
LSU is 3rd in NIL collective. Ole Miss can't even be found in the top 25...
Where are you coming up with this shite? LSU's 5 yr average recruiting ranking pre-NIL was 7th in the country; post-NIL, the average recruiting ranking is 8.5, and that includes a year in which we signed half a class due to firing our head coach, and last year in which we were a flip away from landing the top HS class as well as the top portal class. In terms of collective funding, LSU is at the very top. LSU is arguably in as good of a position as any other program in terms of talent acquisition due to location and donor support. Your "the sky is falling" narrative is really weird and not based in reality.
