Scott frost has to be in the top 3 . Florida wanted him so bad but cooler heads prevailed and they dodged a bullet with that one

Where is Brian Harsin? Has to be top 10. Sumlin is equal to Jimbo in records so I don’t think he is top 10 unless Jimbo is.

Muschamp should be ranked #2 for being hired by Florida, a program with the cachet to hire almost whoever they want who inexplicably opted for a failed retread from another school in their own division.

Butch and McElwain seem harsh.

They weren’t good, but bottom 15?

How is either worse than say Manny Diaz or Joe Moorhead?

Can we put Butch and Proot at the top and add Dooley in for good measure? I'd love to assemble a Mt Rushmore of VOLS coaching hire stupidity...

8. BUTCH JONES, Tennessee (2013-17)

Butch is a goof but he went to 3 straight bowl games and won 9 games twice before it fell apart in 2017. Went 25-14 (12-12) and 3 bowl games with 2 Top 25 finishes from 2014-2016. This after Tennessee had gone 12-28 the previous 5 years in the SEC.

Pruitt was worse than Butch. Easily.

Technically hired before the last decade, but was fired within the last decade. Derek Dooley was arguably the worst head coach in the history of SEC football. Maybe the Ole Miss version of Ed Orgeron was worse, but it’s close
