We’ve had years with only 6 home games. Last year in fact
TN, Vandy, Auburn, Tech Away
Clemson & Florida Neutral
SC, MO, AR, KY, UAB, & CS At home.

With Tech permanent and FL in JAX we never get more than 4 home games out of those 9. Which means of the 3 other non cons 2 have to be at home just to get 6 gates. Florida has the same problem. Going to a 9 game SEC schedule would actually help UGA and UF’s season ticket. We could the play Clemson every year and play them opposite Tech…one home one away.

We only have 6 home games this year.
UT, VU, AU, GT, 2 scrubs
Oregon & Florida neutral.
SC, KY, MSU, MO Away

You’re right. If you want 7 home games every year 9 conference games helps. With the 4-4-1, Tech home, Clemson away and visa versa you could have two directionals and get 7 home every year. But you could never play anybody else out of conference home and away, or if you did you’d have to be okay with 6 home games. Texas and OU could do the same. The difference is that TX and OU don’t have a perpetually crappy P5 rival OOC that they have to play away every other year.

This is why Georgias home ticket package typically sucks.

In my 9 game plan, 5H meant playing @ GT; 4H hosted GT.

Obviously none of you all know how this is done. The former Alabama alum in the SEC office who has nothing to do with scheduling will make up the bridge plan when him and Saban get together to see who has the most risk to Bama winning the conference. At that point a bridge schedule will be made that lightens Bama's load and increases Bama's future threats load for the next 2-3 yrs...

That is how we did it when aTm and Missou were added.

Why does everything have to be "LSU &/or Auburn blames Alabama"?

9 game SEC schedule no perm rival. Every 4 years you play the other side.

From everything I've heard/read, this actually is 1 of the best ways to keep (most) rivalries.

I'm trying to remember the downside (unless it was the delay in rematches (similar to what we have now)).

I think another issue is the SECCG contestants.

This is all mental masturbation, as long as Nick Saban, Kirby Smart and their ilk continue their recruiting practices with impunity.

I don’t think that will ever be considered,,,,,too much risk of long standing rivalries not being played. .

With the 9 game schedule I posted you have:

3 permanent Rivalries
6 rotating opponents that would allow within every 4 years you play a home and home.

At the end of the season you get to pick the two with the top records.
