Clutching would have been a better word choice.

Horrible look for Davis as a young guy trying to advance his career. Almost career killing.

True. Optics are bad for Harsin, but Davis said yes, then realized it'd be more of a grind than the NFL and backed out. He may eventually have more of a career down the road in the NFL, but I don't ever see him getting another shot in college after this.

Auburn football always does well with low expectations. They are very much a "us vs the world" kind of program. It's worked well for them.

Didn't work so well last year. They had low expectations and finished 7-6.

The reason people think this is because Auburn never has two good season in a row (only had back to back 10 win seasons once, back in the 80s). So when they have a good season it is always unexpected.

Much better than a never was, in the first week of the season exit.

It is just not an accurate statement. They have lost at least 4 games 7 years in a row,

Sounds like the wife didn’t like the move to me. Didn’t realize he would be on the road recruiting or something like that. Harsin’s old Boise coordinator is already on staff and the most likely replacement. OC is in name only, because Harsin is the OC. Optics aren’t good, but let’s see how it works out.

Things are a total mess and it is due largely to the current coaching staff. Being an arse is seldom a good idea. An even worse idea is coming into the deep South and telling grown men how you did it in Idaho.

I doubt that. Auburn is a great place to live, especially if you have a family. Look no farther than the fact that former coaches routinely return to live when they retire.

Those two things don't have anything to do with one another. We aren't clinging to Pearl, we locked down one of the best coaches in the SEC

You can spend money on more than one sport after all. I also think the contract that Pearl got is realistic, fair for both parties, and should keep him at the school till retirement if all goes well.

Maybe for you but not everyone likes small town or “village”. Some like a larger city. What is being speculated is that his family may have not wanted to live in such a small place with very limited shopping places.

Bullcrap, they had low expectations last season and finished with their first losing record since Chizik got canned in 2012. When was the last time Auburn finished with back to back 9 win seasons? Back to back 10 win seasons?

How will an "us vs the world" mentality work when they don't have a single skill player that would start for the likes of LSU/UGA/UA/aTm on that offense other than Tank Bigsby?

And whose fault would that be and what is being done to fix it?

Isn't that why Harbaugh is leaving after finally making the playoff? It's like the same kids shitting in the coolest sandbox ever, while everybody else finds something better to do.
