Is it just TV money and the SEC Network putting pressure in teams to actually invest in their basketball programs!

This has to be the strongest we’ve been as a whole for a long time.

It's because they figured out you have to hire good coaches

Compared the coaches now to the coaches 10-15 years ago

Investment. Took them a little long to figure out how much money they could make with basketball to go along with football. They let the Midwest have basketball for the longest time, but now the south wants to take over both sports.

Auburn decided to invest in a great new Arena and then got Bruce Pearl. AL is jealous of Auburn and is getting in. On a national level I don't think we are anything like football though. Kentucky seems to have slipped from their previous highs.

While I appreciate what Cal has done for the program I think the game may be passing him by.

Because UGA is about to take over the SEC in football. Teams are salty.

Yep I'm ready to replace Cal. That run he hD from 2009-2015 may never be replicated in college basketball again.

But since then we've been a meh Elite 8 level team. That's not getting it done.

SEC killing it $ wise. Any program that is not investing in their athletic programs right now is a fool..

I’m not sure it’s this as much as Kentucky has fallen back to the pack and so has UNC and Duke. Those 3 programs alone have allowed for the rise of other talent

Sec has more talent now than basically any other league. Go look at the 2022 recruting ranking and individual player rankings.

I think something like 6 of the top 10 players in the country are going to 3 different SEC teams next year, while only 3 are going to the ACC (all to Duke), and only 1 to the Pac 12.

The sec finally started giving a shite about basketball (I think Sankey pushed for it the most) and actually started hiring good coaches and caring about bbal programs and blowing out guys like Mike Anderson and Billy Kennedy, who were basically regarded as upper-level coaches in the league less than 10 yrs ago.

Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas have always been good. Yeah, they might have a bad year or two here and there, but the biggest difference is AUBURN.

Auburn used to be the worst division 1 basketball program...and now we are one of the top SEC programs.

Boat is correct. The schools went out and decided to employ and pay good coaches.
