Let me start with this.. Man.. I'm freaking jacked up to see what this team can do next year! They fought their tails off all year and has opportunities to pull that one out too. I thought we were in trouble when we started settling for FG's early when we had complete control of the game. They had a really good game plan defensively. I thought BOB was setting some PA deep ball shots to Jamo early because they gave us looks where he was 1 on 1 with a safety cheating the other way. Obviously that changed when he went down and our guys couldn't beat their man quick enough with the pressure they were sending. Kirby and Lanning did a hell of a job with their Empty plan after we torched their arse in empty looks last game.. they kept bringing more than we could block and we couldn't get open in time. I completely understand the hate on BOB play calling inside the 20's but man it would be hard for me to consistently take the ball out of Bryce's hands too. He's made huge plays all year and just couldnt make one or two more. They wore us down late and we were just gassed.. crazy thing is one or two made tackles and the entire game changed again.

This team is going to be really damn good next year. Turner and Anderson will be even better. LB's should be just as good.. the secondary should be lights out. Offensively we should be just as good no matter who is OC or OL coach.. if Bryce is healthy we will have every opportunity in the world to be out in LA next year. Roll freaking tide fellas!

Generally agree except for the OC and OL coaches. Need to move away from NFL retreads and try and get someone interested in staying more than one year.

I mentioned this on another board and got no replies.

If BOB and Marrone move on.

I was wondering about Mike Bobo and Will Friend. They were tight through the years and put together some good teams at UGA with Richt. Bobo is pretty good at developing QB's and coached some really good ones over the years. Stafford, Green, Murray.

I think that he would accel under the all seeing watchful tutelage of Saban and could probably do really well.

I don't think he has landed anywhere and he has spent his entire career in college and almost all of it in the SEC. Has relationships, knows how to recruit, pretty much a given he wouldn't be a 1 and done or jump to the NFL. He seems like a good fit.

The guy was useless. Did a mediocre job coaching and wasn't the primary recruiter for a single one of our signees. He stole money this year.

Bobo's playcalling makes bad QBs look good and holds good QBs back. He's the last kind of OC we need. Give me a younger guy with some experience in both college and the NFL even if it means he's gone after a year.

It's going to be interesting to see how Nick plays his cards with both Bob and Doug. I am sure he will allow Doug to find himself a new gig. Nick doesn't fire coaches if he can avoid.

Not sure about the Bob situation.

I would say to make a run at Joe Brady because I'm not sure he's going to land another NFL OC gig this offseason, but there's some risk there. He doesn't recruit and he's really just had the one year you can point to where he had any kind of results. Granted, he was having to work with Sam Darnold and Rhule likely fired him to save his own arse, but you can't just ignore how bad the Panthers became on offense without CMC.

He really struggled running his own offense. His season calling plays within Todd Haley's offense was his best as OC.

Bobo likes to throw that back shoulder crap that doesn't really fit our strengths. That is kind of NFL with strong receivers. We are more built for speed hopefully. Don't know much about Friend.

So would he do well running Bama’s offense? Because they’re not going to change the offense for anyone. It’s been stated many times Coach Saban isn’t going to ask the whole building to learn something new when 1 person can learn it.

I suspect Saban has a thick Rolodex. Interesting that he has hung on to Golding, developed him, and he has gotten better. He might try another good, young one and develop him. Wonder if we can bring Pruitt back as a consultant, or as a cornerbacks coach since that spot is open?

Stoutland can coach, for sure. Rumor on him was he is not as good as evaluating talent and that was why he was better suited in the NFL. We had zero drop-off when he took over for Pendry; however, Pendry had done all the work and handed him the keys to a well oiled machine.

WRs need a lot of improvement. Lots of drops out there.
