Alabama Vs Georgia Pre Game Thoughts

Well here we are, most of us thought this would be the outcome. For starters, Happy New Year!
My thoughts:
1. This is the same Georgia team we played before. Kirby doesn’t have the time to completely change much. If he does it could be disastrous for them. He won’t risk it.
2. We have the better QB. It’s plain facts.
3. A lot of complaints about not having Metchie, he’s gone let’s move on, and Brooks did just fine and in my opinion is the greater deeper threat than Metchie. We will throw a lot more against UGA than we did Cincy. It’s scheme and by design.
4. Cover 19 best we can, stop the run, and this entire thing is on Bennett IV again. That’s the game we want to play. It’s our best chance.
5. Regardless of what happens, I love the shite out of these kids, they have at every turn proved us wrong. I’ve been wrong, a lot of us have. They never quit, regardless of the task at hand. The team that played Auburn that night will play their hearts out on the 10th until the final second. It’s all we can ask for.
6. Just one thing left to do…..

Hopefully the defense can play well and hold up in the red zone well enough and not let Georgia get the big plays like Michigan gave up last night.

Im hopeful that BOB can install a few screens to the TE's as UGA will blitz relentlessly on 1/10.
Feel we have to feature them this game a bit. Billingsley is a match up nightmare when he's ON.

I hope Bennet got it out of his system last night. His performance against UM reminded me of Garcia, Manziel, aTm QB this year when those guys played out of their mind and could do no wrong.
I hope he blew his wad last night and we can make him pedestrian again next week.

Bennett is constantly being downplayed.
Guy is third in QBR this year right behind Bryce. Hell he carved us up in game 1

He made plays in 2020 but the interceptions skewed people's views. He's a good player.

I think the kid is overrated and Monken schemes it up to cover his many flaws. When he gets put under pressure he panics like pre 2020 Josh Allen.

Perhaps, but he has a shite-ton of elite talent around him which helps him. His running ability can't be understated.

That is true, but again just cause the kid has moxie and can run a little doesn't mean that he is that good. He benefits from superior talent and an outstanding playcaller. If he didn't have one of the best Olines in the country he would be average at best.

Todd Monkens play calling hides a lot of weaknesses for UGA. He's a fantastic coordinator

He is an excellent runner. That's the only thing that kept the SECCG from being a 30 point beating. It's almost as big of a challenge for the defense as #19.

Look UGA fans should feel they have a shot. But what is this garbage media explanation that they just went through the motions against us? They wanted to punk us more than any other team. They wanted that one. The obvious difference against Michigan is that Michigan is a lot easier to defend and and not nearly as good defensively. Not all of the "UGA just didn't seem Into it" nonsense

He's absolutely fantastic

I like our defense’s chance again. Have to do better vs Bowers. He’s really good but adjustments have to be made.
Our WRs give me a lot of pause past the top 3. Billingsley has to play like he’s not half asleep or pouting about something.
I give Owens a lot of flack but if he’s not able to go we will be seeing George. God help us all of that’s the case.

Bama must take away #19. They have to redirect his route away from the break to the middle of the field and the seam route. Got to turn him to the sideline because the QB is so confident in throwing to the guy. You would have to put 14 on the LOS and jam the guy from the get go if nothing else but to disrupt the timing and make Stetson look around.

I was kind of surprised that Lanning got a big HC opportunity before Monken did. He's got a bit of an odd background going back and forth between the NFL and college and making a bunch of random lateral moves, but he did a good job with Southern Miss. It'll be interesting to see if he goes back to the NFL once their firing and hiring cycle gets going in a couple of weeks.

Geroge replaced Owens at RT earlier in the year and it clearly didn't work out. Last night when Owens got injured KIGHT came in at RT. Not sure why you think George would get the start at RT if Owens can't go.

Keep going back to losses over Saban’s career.
It takes otherworldly QB performance and multiple errors from Alabama. If Bennett has that type of game then tip of the hat to Georgia, if not, Alabama wins.
Pretty simple, Saban coached teams rarely beat themselves.
Another thing I noticed in the Orange Bowl…Georgia defensive players “tap” out a lot. I can’t recall Alabama defenders ever doing that, even when they are gassed and I’m screaming at the tv to call a time out. Thoughts??
