going to have to reassess how we review bowl performances by league

with the opt outs these days, unless it's a major, major bowl or playoffs the SEC teams are not going to be anywhere near full strength. this year there is coaching transition, (see Florida) which leaves some teams in a funk. doesn't mean the league (the sky) if falling.
AND, there isn't a non-SEC school out there who won't look at their SEC matchup as a big game, whereas we're all yawning about it.

This is bad and you should feel bad

While you make a valid point, lots of teams have opt outs and unless you’re a SEC SEC SEC chanter, you’re going to get this take called out as an excuse. People are always going to choose the narrative that makes their side either look the best or have less accountability

Going to have to reassess your expects as a fan.
Go5 players want to take down a wounded sec lion just as bad as a go5 sheep. They want to tear up these NIL primadonnas.
Get your guys ready or quit. There is now a precedent to this.
However. The inquiry has now been spawned:
Will recruits be evaluated on and asked if they care about losing to Army or UCF in a bowl game.
Will sec players actually get tired of a future moniker of bowl quitters?
I’m not just talking about Texas AM. I am looking at sec bowl teams that act like they don’t want to be on the field vs a go5 and get their arse killed.
Don’t go if you do t want to be there.
This will spawn a new kind of recruit that hates losing to lesser programs till the end.

Simple solution, coaches don’t get paid for the year if they don’t play the bowl game and get half pay if they play and lose......

Some of the people we didn’t play last year vs Cincy were of this category. Kirby told me to stay home and played someone else

Did Arkansas give you guys permission to speak?
I need to know which Arkansas fan foolishly allowed Texas to think they had speaking privileges.

Players opt out of bowl games?
Man, I'd hate to be a fan of a team that had to deal with THAT.

you guys misunderstand me. i am not making excuses because i don't waste time worrying about who the best league is anyhow. i just see all the boo-hooing and hand wringing and all i'm sayings is wake up and roll with it. it's not that big a deal.

If players, coaches and admins don’t really care, why should we?

ok. remember "overrated" Arkansas ran a train on your BEVO Butts.

Plus the SEC standard, “they didn’t want to be there”

When all your best players opt out of playing in the game it's hard to say they did. A&M's entire team didn't want to be there. Texas's didn't either since they couldn't be bothered to win enough games to get to one.

Will you shorthorns be participating in this year's survey with all the extra time on your hands?
