I'm going to add one that is often overlooked. That is USC vs Mizzou. It's always a competitive game and something crazy always happens.
I agree. I’ve been saying for a while, the South Carolina series is the closest thing to a “natural” rivalry that we have in the SEC. That is, it’s not a forced/manufactured “rivalry”, but rather a heightened sense of competition due to past events that have transpired between the two.
Long live the Battle of Columbias!

The Arkansas-Texas game is a rivalry from the perspective of Arkansas fans. That game in Fayetteville sold out more than the SEC games.

Put this one at dead last. They've beaten us twice since joining the SEC.
Can’t be last based on this logic. LSU has beaten Alabama only once over the same time frame.

I put rivalries into a few different categories:
1. These people hate each other
2. High stakes
3. Produces entertaining games
Iron Bowl, Cocktail Party, Georgia/Auburn, LSU/Alabama, LSU/Florida, Red River Shootout, Texas/A&M, and Alabama/Tennessee all fit category 1, and many fit all 3 categories most years.
The Egg Bowl is almost always 1 & 3.
There’s a lot of games that fit category 3.

You can tell the age of an LSU fan based on what team they consider to be LSU’s biggest rival.
Teens: A&M
20’s: Alabama
30’s-50’s: Florida or Auburn
50’s-70’s: Ole Miss
Over 80: Tulane

Even though Texas owns A&M I'd like to see that game start up again. But they both need to man up and stop being pussies about it. Schedule the damn game each year
tu wanted it so bad they had to join the conference in order to get it.

A&M fans have been the ones throwing a fit about Texas joining the SEC. They’re the ones throwing a fit about possibly ending up in the same pod as Texas. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to play your in-state rival. The best revenge is beating them on the field every year. Why wouldn’t y’all want that?
I guess LSU fans not having an in-state rival program in a P5 conference clouds our perspective. I would love it if UL, La Tech, or Tulane was in a premier football conference and played us every year with competitive and entertaining games.
Texas vs Texas A&M was one of those “identity” games for college football. It’s one of those games that people tune in to see because it’s one of those college football rivalries that contributes heavily to the identity of the schools, fans, and football as a whole. It’s right up there with Army/Navy, the Iron Bowl, Ohio St/Michigan, Notre Dame/USC, Florida/Georgia, etc as far as importance to the sport and entertainment value. Why would A&M fans not want to do anything to make that game happen? I wish LSU had a rival that mattered that much to us, but we don’t. We have to contend with being hated by everyone, but not be anyone’s number 1 villain.

At this point, UF/Uk is a more of a rivalry game than UF/UT.
Funny that used to decide the East.
