- Yale (1936-37)
- Army (1945-46)
- Ohio State (1974-75)*
- USC (2004-05)**
- Oklahoma (2017-18)

Will Alabama become the sixth school to have a player win the Heisman Trophy in back-to-back years?!

* Archie Griffin is the only player to win the Heisman twice
** Reggie Bush had his Heisman Trophy vacated for the 2005 season

...Thread made with apologies to 3down10.

Amazing to think that just 12 years ago, Alabama hadn’t had a single Heisman trophy winner in our entire history. Additionally, after tonight - Auburn will have fewer Heisman winners than Alabama for the first time in the history of the rivalry.

Archie Griffins second Heisman was the most undeserving winner ever.

This thread isn’t about Auburn, little brother.

He's just reminding Auburn of their place.

Trivia.

It sure as shite won’t be moving forward. I think this is the last major random, arbitrary stat that Auburn fans can cling to. The Iron Bowl win eliminated the “this century” & “since Bear” series win marks.

Might as well add this feather in the cap of the greatest Dynasty ever.

BTW, I'd be curious to know what other major accomplishments haven't been reached yet in this Dynasty? Probably very few records to break?

Off the top of my head, I'm surprised Saban hasn’t won more coach of the year awards. I understand why he hasn’t won some of them, but other years seem like he got robbed.

No Ray Guy or Lou Groza yet, though we’ve had worthy finalists.

Not sure why you are apologizing to me. You didn't make threads claiming you were done with me forever while trashing the shite out of me.

It was Alabama that you claimed you were done with and the players/team that you shite all over.

I don't remember posting the thread, but I'm sure this is what I meant. The 2021 version of Alabama had pissed me off worse than any Alabama team going back to probably 2006. The way we played against Auburn, combined with the massive amount of alcohol I had been drinking during the game, probably caused me to lash out in a negative way. And I still hate them. Even if they win it all they are single-handedly responsible for shaving a few years off of my life. And that I cannot forgive.

Tuscaloosa, I am glad that you are pointing out this factoid about the rivalry between Bama and Auburn, but I want to point out another arbitrary demarcation point that the Aubs love to cling to. I didn’t hear it this year, but in recent iron bowls past I heard their announcer boast about Auburn’s “lead in the series in the modern era.” This is the most pathetic arbitrary demarcation since they refer to the modern era as having started in 1982 which obviously gives them one more victory to count than if they say “since Bear.” According to their logic in the Heisman scenario, they only have two Heisman’s to claim since Pat Sullivan’s came before 1982.

Without doubt, I heard their announcer brag about the lead in the series, and I believe that the way he announced it was very deceptive: “Auburn leads in the series” (long pause) and then more quietly “in the modern era.” Pathetic.

3 national titles in a row.

Alabama has been close, 64-65, 78-79, 11-12 but can not seem to get over the hump

He never stood a chance. Robert Griffin III was too much of a media darling. Even though Trent Richardson and Tyrann Mathieu both had superior seasons the allure of RGIII and Baylor was not going to be denied in 2011.

It hasn't been just one thread. You've trashed Alabama many time.

I'm sure this team would be extremely upset if they knew this.

So you can't handle your alcohol eh? Sounds like a personal problem to me. Seek help

.

So do all of us Alabama fans a favor and find another team and piss off.

Didn't they used to say Saban never beat a good AU team and used 8+ wins as the mark before changing that to 9+ wins.

I guess there is that.

That said, it is a great rivalry. Truly love the Iron Bowl. I don't hold any "hate" for them at all. It is an awesome series. That said, I do wish there was a a compilation of fan faces from the highs to the lows in this year's game. Always funnier when it's not happening to you.

P.s.: frick you, Tennesee!
