For those of you who listen to the Locked On Auburn podcast, they discussed that Auburn is working on some innovative NIL program today. Sounds kinda like one of those subscription-based services where you get sent stuff based on a subscriber tier--autographs, etc. The details were light but it sounds like it will cover baseball, basketball, and football. They seem to think it will be a game-changer. Anyone else heard anything on this?

My subscription is going to the offensive and defensive lines.

That is good, I would love to see Auburn do something that were a big play happens in a game that the player is able to sign photos of it and be with a subscription service.

Something like Bo's Scramble against LSU or Sammie Coates slamming the A&M DB down, and have a limited # signed and auction off.

I know Auburn Art had a deal with Bo and a few other players.

I think just getting them to get every player some slice of the pie would be good overall if you aren't normally very marketable

I'm guessing Charmin should NIL deal with our OL.

How does it work? You subscribe to positions/units?

Not a lot of details yet, but from what I'm gathering it sounds like there will be a service where you can donate in various tiers. You can choose a team (football, basketball, baseball), a position group, or a player. Kinda feels like a combination of GoFundMe and Kickstarter. The idea is to make NIL accessible to the individual average fan. Really neat idea IMO.

So if uncle Jimmy just so happened to give me a few hundred grand, I now know what to do with it

They can also sign up to do videos for people who buy them...Case in point, I have had vendors do this service where Bo & Davis both do videos and the vendor gives them a few talking points and their product and they then record it and the vendor then sends me a link. Yeah it is cheesy but Bo or Davis or whomever walks away with money for about a minute of work. These kids can get on that bandwagon and make a few hundred per clip.

So would you be able to "pledge" "donations" to potential new players????

No what you would do would be able to say player x got $$ in his first year and if they do well this year that would go up to $$$ and that is easy enough to do if set up correctly.

So I pay $100 per month.

Do I get like a video answering a question?
Autographed items?

Or would they endorse a product of mine at a higher rate?

I guess once it is live, then we will know.

I doubt $100 a month gets you anything much at all.

My question is if you use nilauburn.com are the players obligated only to that organization like will there be a do not compete clause because it sort of sounds like.

Bet there is some frickery behind it

I just think it's funny how the rule of "oh you can't donate directly that's a violation because your a booster as a fan" is somehow not the same as "oh you just pay this LLC, and they will make sure you get what's needed"
