I hope we move away from the QB who has lost their job or on their way down at their current power five school. The last several times we have done this have not ended well Thorne, TJ Finley, Calzada, Ashcroft.

I would rather bring in 2 or 3 guys from smaller schools on their way up. Guys who were passed over by the power five and now are willing to compete for a chance to play SEC ball.

I liked Finley most out of all those.

He would not beat out Nix though...

Play calling for your QB always helps

This. Montgomery didnt call a single swing pass to a WR, not a single slant pass and called one screen pass at the worst time in the game to call it.

The plan was Leary, but he went to Kentucky. Then the Plan was McCall, but he didn't have the credits. Then the plan was the guy from Tulane, but he decided not to transfer. Then the plan was Riley from Duke, but he decided not to transfer. Then the plan was Spencer Sanders, but he had a shoulder injury.

Throne was like the 6th option, but we needed to bring someone in. He hasn't been as good as most expected though. I don't think anyone expected great.. but I think most expected decent.

Long term developing our own is the best plan.

But starting with a true freshman next year could be rough. Putting a true freshman in the competition and if he wins he wins but if he loses he sits a year or two would be ideal.

We definitely need something different. Aside from Marshall and cam our qbs have been terrible. We always have offensive gurus on the staff but apparently they forget everything when hired by auburn. Our Oline isn't great but not as horrible as last year. Thorne looks terrified.

we have Geriner. Play the kid. It can't be worse than what we have seen out of Thorne.

Every time I have seen Geriner in losses he looked just as much shite as the QB that started the game.

Almost like Geriner is pretty bad after all.

I would just like to say that I think it is great to come back together as the AU Family, get along and talk football. Sometimes it helps to yell and scream and get frustration and feelings out. Doesn&t everyone feel a little better now? Time to move forward, in a better direction. Peace, Janglang, everyone.

he is running the scout team in practice and gets mop-up duty in two games. His first game he threw two dimes with two passes. Practice him with the ones and see what he can do. We will struggle against Arky and State with Thorne.

I had high hopes for Thorne, but he just doesnt have it between the ears. He isnt a dog. He plays with fear and wont be able to handle this schedule

WE need to bring in a highschool kid and develop him. Even its painful. We need to stop the QB carousel.

Get someone who can play 3 years. We have not had that in almost 20 years

Stop with the new qb every year

Agreed. We would have probably had about 21 in the first half with just an OK quarterback. It changes the entire game. Defense eventually wore down.

Any strategy is better than what we have seen the past two-three years.
