I thought having Zaire in at Guard gave the line a much more solid performance.
Our RBs are all men. An embarrassment of riches.
Singleton took a step back last night with some drops.
BB is holding the ball too long.
Tia and BB throw a VERY different ball. Tia can sling it. It comes out quick. Very pretty.
The defense is solid.
Absolutely LOVE that AG was not satisfied to just get the win. Him continuing to talk about tightening up mistakes is going to set the standard and will pay off for us.

I agree, but ya cant do that right in front of the field judge, he will call it every time. And it made no difference in the play, there was no need.
Sometimes, when there is a hold and its called back you can see the hold is what allowed the runner to make the play. Its the friggin dumb penalties when it makes no difference that are annoying.

Golesh talked about in the presser that they changed around the type of run plays when they saw what the defense was doing, and changed personnel at the line. It seemed to work.
What a breath of fresh air to see a coaching stafff actually coach on game day.

The stands will be rocking for Florida. Remember their QB has never started in an environment like that, he was a backup at his former school.
Last night we defer and put that poor QB in the middle of the student section, he cant hear shat, the line cant hear shat to call blocking assignments, they snap the ball he drops back already spooked and friggin Dallas Walker, all 345 lbs of him is running unblocked straight at him....ya wanna pick six, here take it, just get this mfker off me.

Depth look really good. Young guys who might not see the field for a while appeared coached up ready, which speaks volumes about this staff. And because teaching is near God given and suspect in our recent past.
Coach needs to be reminded he can have up to three on field protests and not just the one private complain to the SEC. IMHO To me all the coaches need to use their limit and talk about needing more, because weekly calls to B'ham doesn't seem to be getting the job done. Not that we didn't deserve the lion's share.

I don’t have a lot to go on from a game like this. Were there things you love to see and a feeling of some progress? Yes, but a game like this may be good to try some in game situations and new formations, and maybe gain some confidence for some players.
Brown does throw a pretty ball but can play faster on his reads and throws.
Running backs look really good, quick, hard running and north and south runners.
Defense looks solid to really really good, and some players are standing out. Tackling can improve.
I am glad Coach saw what I saw and called it out. He seems like the type of coach we need. Does he have all the pieces yet? No, because the OL is still a concern especially when we play better competition. We will learn a lot more this next game.

It was southern miss, but regardless, the throw by Brown across his body to Koger on a frozen rope was the best throw I’ve seen in person at JHS in a long time. He’s not gonna be a guy that gets it out quickly but I think we can win with him if he can limit the errors

3. O line still needs to improve
4. Brown is playing as if he lacks confidence. He takes too long to throw when he is in the pocket.

Great to see McPherson leg, so lively and him so healthy. That was a hell of a kick.
Conversely…Our punter sucks
Golesh press conference was the best thing I’ve ever seen in 27 years. Finally, we have a coach that adheres to a standard rather than blathering on defending his position. I am pulling so hard for the guy to succeed. If he can’t do it, I’m not sure anybody can.
I want to see more of Bryson Washington. The dude moves the pile like nobody else we have.
Our OL is atrocious and I hope the strategy turns to how do we mitigate that rather than trying to get them to do something they can’t.
Elijah Melendez is a straight up animal. That guy is the best middle linebacker we’ve had since Takeo Spikes. Beast mode every play.
Good to see Koger getting open and becoming primary target. Good to see Spencer makes some grabs too.
Conversely… Was a little concerning that all of the sudden our best receiver Singleton gets the yips

was at the game and from where I was sitting it was hard to tell, but are Brown's best throws pre-ordained? I know he doesn't have much time but is he reading the D and adjusting or just throwing to one guy from the snap?

We better find a solid O Line before October or we are really going to be on a long loosing string. That’s a brutal stretch. That’s my biggest concern.

He caught the ball awkwardly and bobbled it some as he was stepping out. It was not secured through the catch. It was a very nice throw by Brown though.
