Jarquez had a career year and was one of the top RBs in the conference, Thorne was one of the better QBs in the conference statistically speaking, KLS was one of the top WRs, Coleman and Simmons we're two of the best freshman in the conference.. We don't need to make major changes, we need to get better at situational things. Too many turnovers, too many penalties, too many times we should have called a run instead of pass or vice versa, but the core of what we we're doing works or it wouldn't put up the stats it does.

I know man, but its hard to overlook the pure stupidity of Hugh Freeze. He even said he knew the secret to making our offense work and that he had to fight with himself not to do something different. Thats fricking crazy talk.

If you know what works and your first instinct is to do something different, you are a shite coach. Its fricking mind boggling

Heard multiple times listening to the local radio broadcast which is an Alabama call “so and so was open on the seam and Thorne didn’t see him, we were lucky there.”

It’s like a record skipping over and over.

I have a suspicion that Sam Pittman may soon be available and he’s a damn good coach and human being. I would aggressively pursue him as an assistant HC and give him responsibility for the LOS.

Whatever staff shuffling needs to occur in order to accommodate that would be well worth it. He also builds great culture among the players he develops, and has a well deserved reputation among HS recruits and coaches. It will be expensive, it will be worth every penny.

Our most glaring needs are :

OL - starters, depth, and development
Special Teams - kicker and cover discipline
DL - depth and development

It’s challenging to attract/keep top skill position players if you cannot place them in an environment that showcases their talent.

just my dos centavos …

Far fetched but a great thought on this message board.

Our playcalling seemed sketchy this season. We need a single offensive coordinator and freeze. Let the other guys coach their positions and stay away from playcalling duties

I've worked with guy's who couldn't wipe their behinds and keep their fingers from stinking, but they were great managers. They had people skills and the place worked perfect;y fine without them. Isn't that like 'Intro to Business 101 ?

After Walker’s comments, it’s just another good reason to boot Kent Austin.

I've not been impressed with anything associated with that dude. Not sure what he's whispering but it's not helping the qbs get better

Obviously White sucked or we would have surely played him. Other teams with better records went to a fr qb. Either way it was weird. He was supposed to be a stud and we never saw him play during a year we didn’t win much due to QB play.

Who the hell knows? Our QB evaluation starts with Hugh Freeze, and it has sucked. We had an opportunity (several actually) to bring in a transfer QB last offseason, and we settled for literally the worst QB room in the SEC. I have no inkling as to how well Arnold will work, but I’m prepared for the worst.

Heard multiple times people who don't know dick about football but have an agenda say "so and so was wide open! Qb sucks durrr!"

Not saying Thorne was great, or even good necessarily, but people are dumb. Can't remember which game it was but Thorne had his entire body to the right side of the field and was beginning his throwing motion so a defender left his man on the left side of the field to go to where the ball was obviously going and the announcer went back and showed it in slow motion trying to say we had a guy wide open.

I get watching Thorne under perform and then blaming or reevaluating the QB development, but we're now listening to disgruntled former players about our current staff? White didn't play so of course he's pissed. it's extremely rare in this day and age for a kid to be self aware enough to acknowledge his own flaws and keep his head down and work. I don't hate him or blame the guy, but people running with his words as an example of why we have a problem is stupid. Dude wasn't playing until 2027 at the earliest and he knew it so he bolted to a place with less comp. It's clear.
