Are they just not renewing his contract? When does it end? Will they fire him too? No way he makes the new hire so why is he still around? New President gets to pick his replacement? When does the new pres take over?

Greene's contract ends January 2023. New President is in charge May 16

He should be gone if/when Harsin goes. Most useless AD we’ve ever had, and I’m not sure a lot of it is entirely his fault.

we still have Bruce because of him. That is far from useless.

So if Allen Greene weren’t the AD, Pearl wouldn’t have signed the extension? That doesn’t make sense. Everyone in Auburn was willing to pay him whatever; all Greene had to do was put a piece of paper in front of him to sign.

Thought is that Greene saved Pearl's job years ago when the investigation started.

I love these driveby statements like this. What quantitative measure are you using? What action or inaction leads you to believe this? Frankly, I'm not sure what he's done or not done.

Didn’t Leath want Pearl gone when the bball scandal broke?

Leath is the most useless President in Auburn history.

I’m just wondering where this comes from?

He kept Leath from firing Pearl.
He extended Pearl
Made a seemingly bad hire with Harsin
Got the Football only facility going (which I don’t know if he did a good or bad job with that because I have nothing to judge it on)
Has a basketball only facility going (again I have nothing to judge on)

The other sports hires I don’t really know much about. Did he hire Thompson?

Useless just seems like a weird adjective when the only thing I can really see people criticizing him for is the Harsin hire.

You could be right as I know nothing about the AD position besides fundraising and hiring coaches. Just curious what your criteria was.

Part of me hopes Greene stays and kind of keeps both sides on their toes. If I were him I'd be talking to Bo Jackson and Barkley daily and try and get them completely on my side. Outside of football he has done fairly well, obviously he must be good at fundraising?

He did NOT extend Pearl. He was allowed to take a picture with him.

Greene is frozen out of decision making. Auburn is trying to let him find a job elsewhere for optics; hence why he's been taking every interview he can for about a year now.

Pearl was actually one of biggest (if not the #1) complainer during the story last year where Alan Greene wasn't approving budgets. No chance in hell that AU is letting Greene negotiate the biggest contract in recent AU memory LMAO.

You have a very short memory. Leath wanted to fire Pearl when the Person thing came out. AG talked him out of that.

I wish I had confidence that the jackasses on this board only represented a small portion of our fanbase.

There is no justifiable reason to actually want AG gone. For some reason, it just seems like the popular thing to do.

That was only needed because we hired an incompetent president.

So….pretty much the definition of useless, as I said.

We still have Bruce because of Bruce. The worst AD in the history of college athletics would still have made that deal.

It's like people forget the first thing Greene did was put himself between Leath and Pearl
