Is Banks a DJ guy or is he more of a Golesh hire because of the UT ties?

I think Golesh and Banks coached at Illinois together

I definitely like Porter more then Martin if for nothing more then experience.

Porter is a very solid recruiter too. Martin has a ton of upside, but also a decent scenario that he can learn at one other place and then we can try and snag him in a few years.

Porter I thought was fine when he was here, though he did TE's/H-back for Gus, so hard to really judge that productivity.

Does anyone remember how Porter did last time he was here? Who did he recruit? I can't think off the top of my head.

Seeing a lot of Tenn fans glad Banks is gone. Seeing a lot of complaints about their safety play and that he doesn't recruit.. not doesn't like to recruit, but flat out just doesn't do it. Not sure what to think.

Last I checked Tennessee was among the worst in the country in pass defense.. I heard from a tenner injuries really stacked up though.

Their defense was attrocious this year. The previous 4 though that he was also DC for, they were quite solid, so who knows. 2024 their pass D was top 10 I believe. They also have Willie Martinez coaching secondary as well, who I think is awful.

You are in the prime of your time baw. Enjoy the hell out of the next 15 years. Probably my best 15 years anyway.

I only feel in my prime in the gym. Despite being active in the gym (4-6x a week) and doing heavy leg exercises (2x a week) my thyroid and test levels are dropping. I am not really setting PRs any more but I refuse to do test injections. So I am using Boron and it has helped a lot. I just got a sleep apnea machine so yeah I am not in my prime anymore.

Sleep is a big deal even though it’s something I have never excelled at. It is something I rarely do. I did everything to try to fix it for years but now I’ve just given up.

You may not feel like you’re in the prime physically as far as you’re lifting but your time, you are. Not that I’m not still having a pretty good time now in my upper 50s, but definitely my late 30s through my 40s and early 50s were my best time. I’m sure that changes for everyone. And I’m not necessarily talking about physical condition but life in general.

Maybe you are just running your body down. That’s a lot of gym work for a normal dude.

The machine is horrible. I dont know how the sleep techs got a reading from my sleep study on whether the machine works or not, because I never felt like I fell asleep for five minutes because I cannot sleep on my back, and I cannot sleep with a mask. I can sleep on an arm a lot better than I can sleep on my back.

Maybe. I am pretty obsessive and get depressed when I dont go to the gym though so I usually kick myself to the gym around 5am everyday. I will do more blood tests during christmas break and hope to have better readings.

Did they do a TSH?

Pituitary gland issues can affect thyroid and testicles.

You and your doctor need to get to the bottom of this.

Sleep/wake cycle can be disturbed by various things.

I hope yo get the answers you need to get as healthy as you can.

I was able to cure my sleep apnea by losing 35 lbs during radiation/chemo. Radiation trashed my thyroid so I am on medication for that. I use as many natural supplements as I can for energy and mood. I have dealt with anxiety and depression for most of my life that really came to a head during my cancer journey. I added light weight training to my exercise program this past year and I feel the difference in a good way. The fact that you get up and to the gym at 5 everyday is awesome and I hope you can keep it up. Getting old sucks out loud, but it beats the alternative.

My brother, a UT alum, told me that they lost both starting CBs and for a while had a freshman on one side and a kid on his third school in three years on the other side. Since the only change from the previous year was the Jimmy and Joes, I'm hoping that was just a roster issue.

How old are you, jang?

I’m 33 and had my test checked about 4 months ago. It was 370. Got TRT, 150mg per week with two doses split, and at last check is was 1,077. Feel much better. All my other labs look fantastic aside from cholesterol, which could be genetics. Worth a try if needles don’t bother you.

ETA: I see you’re trying to avoid it. Understandable.
