Maybe we are talking about relationships with prospective players that were lost?
Means absolutely zero anymore. The only relationships that these players have is with uncle Benjamin.

Eh, it still means something. If nothing else, we probably lost some information on who a recruits influential people probably were, who the go through’s are, etc. that takes time again to figure out and at a time where the portal was moving fast, can get you out of things quickly, no matter the money, considering we realistically aren’t going to be the top spender most of the time.
You’re right though that money dominates most of that now, but you still get put behind the right ball when you lose your communication network. Though as Smuphy said, that 5-6 year figure is probably being very overdramatic by that person ultimately.

And we will continue to see the same product on the field until that changes.

Will there be a portal draft at some point?

Don’t disagree but it’s reality.

You can't be this dense.
I mean, this seems rather rich coming from someone insisting that the GM isn’t using the recruiting software provided by the university to assure that all coaches have easy access information they need to successfully recruit players.
Instead, he’s hand-writing his super secret info out on yellow legal pads before every visit, phone call or text a coach makes. Making it impossible for any coach or other recruiter to contact a recruit without him. The stupidest and most inefficient process possible. I know it’s Auburn and Hugh Freeze but damn, if that’s true, fire every single athletic department employee that ever had anything to do with the football program. Even the guys that clean the bathrooms or sell boiled peanuts should know that’s dumb as frick.

You're way off target on what they're pretending.. Do a little research on the family. The man definitely lacks leadership characteristics. Also doesn't believe in biology.

so you think the GM will give access, on his evaluations, to any employee of the athletic dept. by putting his evaluations for all eyes to see?
IF he had taken anything he wasn't supposed to take, Auburn would have sued him. AGAIN, he took HIS evaluations. He left what his staff compiled.
Do you think, in the NFL, every employee in the front office has access on player evaluations done by the GM..............or maybe it's just the HC?

I think you are being a tad obtuse.
Any GM related work and player evaluations completed while he was working for the athletic department would remain with the athletic department after his dismissal.
Being that he was working under Freeze, his portal targets and info would be related to the targets that Freeze wanted - so when he is let go and Golesh comes in and wants evaluations on players he wants, they wouldn't necessarily overlap? Maybe? However if his job was to broadly evaluate all SEC players (just theorizing here) and he didn't turn over the analysis upon leaving, then he would be sued. Just like with any proprietary info.

I can see it.
Except instead of teams on the clock to pick players, it’s players on the clock to pick teams.
And the players can go back to the podium at any time to switch their pick.

aye, there is the rub.
in other words, he gave up everything he was legally obligated

No, not what I said or implied at all. Anyone with recruitment duties would have access. They need to have access to properly do their job of reaching out and recruiting players.

This is exactly the opposite of what I am arguing. He left everything. The excuse that he didn’t is bunk and someone is bullshitting to cover for AG just importing USF to Auburn. Granted, I do think AG was in a tough spot but should have known that a lot of those players weren’t going to translate to the SEC.

I think coaches and the GM have access to draft and free agent evals to weigh in on how to build the team. Different flavor of the college setup. In either circumstance, those evals aren’t just living on one person’s laptop. They are shared with limited, appropriate staff so they can recruit players and be informed of the recruitment status, fit, intangibles and just overall ability. They aren’t hoarded by the GM. These people are on the same team and the GM is there to make recruiting easier not set up unnecessary barriers to recruiters by guarding his person stash of evaluations.

Funny thing is why tried to get Arky’s AD who was highly respected and they are trying to run him out.
This NIL stuff has really changed how AD’s are judged by their ability to navigate and manage a more complex system
