Is that how it’s working in other states or are we just woefully unprepared? I’ve been harboring a fairly rough cold with a low grade fever the last couple of days

We just started drive thru testing in Colorado. Only one place and I heard they were at capacity immediately (CO has looser criteria).

Hopefully they setup more soon. My SO is a physician at an area hospital. She’s pretty scared but she’s in excellent health. A surprising amount of doctors aren’t. Say a prayer for her and others if you guys are into that

Well, we certainly weren't prepared. Maybe it will just go away.

I’m wondering the exact same thing. I’m contemplating the 45 minute drive to Georgia and try to get tested there.

Stay on her to make sure she is taking breaks and getting adequate rest. She probably knows this but it is hard to self-regulate those things when you are in the thick of a crisis.

The US is completely unprepared due to the shortage of tests.

For context, South Korea developed and produced enough tests to test >200,000 people in only a few weeks with a ~6 hour response time.

Not sure what the US has been doing for the past month but it sure had nothing to do with producing quality COVID tests

According my sauces, most states are a complete shite show like Tiguar mentioned. The West Coast is ahead of most areas due to how nCoV19 has progressed through the US. It's great to hear CO has drive thru clinics for this. Hopefully other states will follow suit

The US has the strictest FDA of any country really. They have been a major holdup in the mass production of test kits from what I've heard

For sure. She has a research appointment so she has some built in time to be away from the clinical side. But the stress is real.

They had capability to test on their own several weeks ago but were strongly discouraged against attempting to do so. They didn’t have the position to do it anyway and ask for permission (like what Dr Chu in Seattle did).

Our Northern Office is going to work from home for the next couple of weeks and our Florida Office will still be chugging along. On of the FL cases was only a couple miles away from us and no problems. That one flew in from out of the country. Not worried about this but we are taking precautions with the folks who may have compromised immune systems. Seems like the Flu is worse than COVID19. However, the media is pushing a narrative that is panic inducing. Too many people are overreacting.

Our local media have been pretty level headed and helpful throughout the last few weeks. That hasn’t stopped people from panicking on their own. Regardless of profession, political view, or socioeconomic status, we’re all susceptible to overblowing this. We’re all capable of feeling vulnerable to what’s happening to our communities. The unknown is the largest challenge right now

My wife is a Pharmacist at a north Georgia hospital. No cases yet but they are on it pretty hard. They are being realistic and not panicking but I could see her getting locked in there for a while is something happened,

They locked her down 4 days in a row last time it snowed bad here. I loved the first day, was indifferent the second then was mad as frick the last two.

While everyone is told to stay home i unfortunately work in the transportation industry, so ####. We are hurting and a lot of people will pay a steep price for the hysteria.

Its 76F in atlanta today, eat that covid19. I dont buy into this being any worse than the flu so its pretty aggravating.

The likelihood of one of us quarantining separately is something I'm definitely struggling with right now

Take this time to not personally socialize but over the phone. Check on your neighbors especially the elderly and you don’t have to come in contact with them but check if they need anything and go pick it up for them. Don’t know how deadly this virus will be but any human loss of life is tremendous in my eyes. God Bless you all and stay safe and look after your fellow people.
