Someone mentioned he talked to Powell and cooled a bit on us

If that is the case Bruce should block Powell's transfer to anything but D2

Kessler would be a nice pull, but likely going to Gonzaga. Kessler would be perfect for Bruce. Bring back Thor and he'd move to the 3. I just wouldn't count on it though.

There is chatter picking up on Tyty Washington. But I have to ask around. This would be a big pick up if we can get him.

If you're wondering Powell shocked everyone on the transfer. He really wants to go to Kentucky. They are still slow playing him on accepting the transfer. Trey Alexander is better anyways. Powell was going to the bench and he is more fragile than Tua anyways.

Auburn is slow playing him or KY?

I would assume us, since he simply bolted after everything PEarl has done and showed to him, when the major guys weren't giving Powell any love back during recruiting...

Kentucky slow playing Powell.

Scoot is supposed to reclassify and commit soon and Tyty is a possibility as well.

Do we have space for both or will we have to send someone packing

Jamal transferred and Rife going pro likely. Scoot is a 1 and done kind of talent with size. Tyty is a solid combo guard. Even Kentucky wants him. You make room for those guys even if you don't have it.

I was told today that Thor is probably gone too. Its Kessler or Gurley(Furman transfer) for F. I'd love to have Kessler more cause of how he fits for Bruce and stick it Georgia for taking their family legacy.

Would be surprised, but seeing Cooper and Thor getting drafted would help Auburn even more.

Okoro
Okeke
Cooper
Thor

All in the NBA...

I’m not sure Thor would be drafted. His only legit skill right now is being tall and long. He shows glimpses of a ton of skills, but I’d come back and refine them if I were him

Those were Wiley’s only skills. Thor is 6’10 kid that can knock down threes, drive to the rim, or knock down shots posting up from the midrange

There was a rumor awhile back that Powells issue at Auburn had to do with a fight at skybar where he got a skull fracture.

Would make sense why Kessler is a little concerned

Thor has the most potential of all players on the team right now. NBA drafts on size and potential and Thor has both. Thor might not have looked great last season, but he still has potential though. Remember he is supposed to be ending High School right now. Another flaw with progress is COVID and he couldn't get the workouts and the chemistry with the team over the summer. NBA coaches and executives might believe they can coach and develop his game better than college coaches would.

Thor can knock down 3's but not consistently. He is at 30% for the season and has a 74% free throw rate which isn't good.

And he was 6th on our team in 2P%, which is fine but not overly impressive.

I'm not saying that Thor is bad. I think he has great potential. But I think right now he is absolutely not ready for the NBA and could vastly improve his stock coming back.

I agree with you, but I could easily see a team grabbing him in the second round because of how high his potential is.

That would be Bruce's fault. They are little over .500 since that tournament game vs. Us. Bruce broke Roy.

Man is it because he has a cool name like Big Kat? Thor is not a good basketball player.

Thor isn't as bad as everyone thinks he is. We forget how much of an impact COVID had on young teams. The teams that were loaded with top freshmen had their struggles this season. Look how Duke, Kentucky, and Kansas performed this past season versus the previous seasons. A lot of the older teams had better seasons. Thor was supposed to be a high school senior right now. Imagine if he had full summer workout and practice time with the team like they usually get.

Definitely not the case, Powell can play 1 - 3 in college there for a while he was averaging 18ppg 6 rebs and 6 assists as a true freshman at 6'6 shooting 44% from 3.

He was not heading to the bench

Kessler might stay with UNC after the dust settles. Duke is a major player for Gurley and we can say he is leaning toward them now. Thor might come back though.

The G League has entered play for Scoot Henderson. He could still pick Auburn though. If he reclasses then Auburn will make room for him. Auburn is very much in play for Tyty.

Interesting news as of today is that Garrison Brooks just entered the portal. Might be telling that Kessler stays. We could make a play for him.

I'd love for Brooks to come to AU but for some reason I thought he was a senior. His mom was at Auburn when i was.
