You should be more pissed about the extension and buyout Gus was given.

Just personally, Gus gave me more for his 19 mil than Harsin gave me for his 15.

Harsin did nothing but completely destroy the program, the recruiting and the head to head play against every team he played

Idk why there’s some strange notion that one must be compared to the other and that we’d be better off had Malzahn not been let go

I don't know why there's some strange notion that we would not be better off had Malzahn not been let go. We clearly would be better off.

Just because his seasons wouldn’t be Harsin level bad doesn’t mean he needed to stick around. We simply hired the wrong guy. I’m happy to rank Gus ahead of Harsin all day long

He seemed like a nice guy (Gus). Met him numerous times. He seemed like it would be enjoyable to have a beer with and trade stories. I’d have 0 interest in ever meeting Harsin. Seems like a douche mixed with a limp dishrag.

On that alone I’ll look back on the Gus years and say they weren’t all a waste. The Harsin years were ALL a waste.

I think everyone was excited for Harsin because he wasn’t Kevin Steele.

We believed all the BS that Harsin was talking.

We should have took note that no one, I mean NOONE at Boise was upset that he was leaving.

The question not being asked, and it should be, is why of all the coaches out there, why did we settle on Harsin?

Now think about where we are right now. Our AD was let go months ago and we still don't have a replacement. Harsin should've been fired a month ago, but he hasn't. Why? Something is going on that we aren't privy to, and it doesn't look good.

Thats all I said

But you are all so upset at yall's savior, you want to think I wanted to keep Gus'.

They should not have changed unless they had something better in the works. Auburn sucks at coaching searches and you are about to see that again. We are not a school that very few good coaches would consider. I hope I am wrong but history says, we are about to be underwhelmed again

And after paying out 15 mil

I still say its not rock bottom yet. I think that is yet still coming

Gus needed to go, but hindsight being 20/20, there's no doubt we'd be better off TODAY with him here, than what we currently have.

Yella Fella is the richest person in Alabama. Harbert is a big money guy. Surely these two can put together a few people who are experts in the field, and perform a solid coach search. I love Bo, but former players with no experience coaching or running a program do not need to be a part of the next hire.

I don’t know what you are laughing about because I’ve said that since last IB. I’ve also never been on the Harsin train.

There have been many civil discussions with Freep and others about Gus’s knack for odd year success, he would’ve beat Bama last year, his willingness to burn midnight oil recruiting prior to signing days, etc.

You’re just ignorant. You have some perception of me that’s not accurate.

I am laughing because Harsin is not even in the same league as Malzahn. And that you are finally ready to admit that is admirable.

But understand man. I do like you and I like you more than most. You are a fighter and I admire that. So many here just change their minds week to week. They have no conviction. What ever the newest shiny object is. Shiny objects will get you a 3-9 record. And that is where we are headed. All for 15 million dollars

I’ve been saying Gus was ahead of Harsin. I just told you that.

I stopped reading here. I guess I’m back to ignoring you. Empirical evidence that I was right there with you bitching about Harsin going all the way back to January 3.

We all know Lanier moved to Florida so he could be closer to Gus and not have to drive so far to gargle Gus’ balls. On a side note UCF has a forum, go pump Gus there.

Agree with that. It was a 35 million dollar mistake and one that totally destroyed the program for years. No matter who is the "new guy" after they send BH back to Boise.

Everyone should be way more mad at the powers to be for having to pay Harsin off than they were Malzahn. They got nothing for it but total misery

I dont think we have hit rock bottom yet, that is to come. I think we have to do that before we can start to get batter. We will get better but I do not think it will happen quick like in the past. We are going to hurt for a while unfortunately. Tennessee style

I still dont know how I totally feel about him as a coach at a school like Auburn but someone like Sanders may be the quick answer to get the wheels rolling again. But if Auburn is going to steal the Mississippi State AD, then it doesn't appear we are aiming high

I hope we are getting close to “rock bottom.” In 2012, we hit “rock bottom,” and started to dig.

I don’t have the answer, but firing Harsin is part of any answer anyone would give.

I care, but I don’t arrange my Saturdays around Auburn Football like I used to. Apathy came for me in 2018 after I went to the Georgia Southern game. Each season I’ve put less and less effort into watching the games. Yesterday I finished my round of golf around 1245. I lingered on the putting green rolling a few. I came home. I watched some of the second half. I put our game on iPad at 38-20, and switched the TV to Ohio State/Penn State.

In 2012, I attended all home games and stayed until after the alma mater played. I used to be beyond loyal and faithful, but over the years I’ve realized that I really contribute nothing to AU football, and I have zero control over the outcome. This morning I’m not upset about losing. APATHY, if widespread in the fan base could be a problem that changes the revenue stream. I used to have “lucky” game watching shirts and the like. “Fan” is short for “fanatic,” and athletic departments need “passion” in the fan base to extract $$$$$$$ from us consistently. Have our weekly merchandise sales been impacted by this season? That may drive the process of firing Harsin quicker than even the losses.

I think we are close. And I agree. It hurts us all.

I didnt even watch yesterday. Had to clean some fish we caught Friday then get the smoker going

I just wasnt sure I could watch yesterday. I am at rock bottom with Auburn. It is just too painful watching this abortion happen. Its hard to believe where we are in just a short time. I just dont see us recovering from this like we did 2012. I am afraid we are going to hurt for a while unfortunately
