Yeah why keep pumping up Gus, Lanier? He was a turd and Harsin is also a turd.

Gus got complacent and stuck in his ways.

Gus also couldn't recruit a full SEC caliber OL.
That was the biggest factor in his downfall IMHO.

Now we have a clown who not only can't recruit OL, he can't recruit anybody who wants to actually stay and play for his sorry arse.

Our next coach is going to have a rebuild job like Pat Dye and Tuberville had.

I know.

I am amazed at how many people can’t understand how bad Gus sucked.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

You should be more pissed about the extension and buyout Gus was given.

Some folks are risk averse. They would choose mediocrity over the risk of failure (and possibility of greatness.)

Firing Gus was the right decision. Actually, he should have never been given the contract extension and raise after beating Bama and Georgia. Hiring Harsin was obviously a bad decision. The guy has no idea how to manage an SEC team.

I recommend you as AD based on this post and your picture.

Absolutely nobody said he wouldn’t do well at UCF. As long as he can play programs that can’t manhandle his OL, he will have success. He could not compete with good SEC DL’s outside of some outliers. That was always the core of his issues long term.

Is he pissed though? Dude is one of those people that loves to say I told you so(even though barely anyone was saying Harsin was a slam dunk hire for Gus).

You are an idiot if you think it was the wrong decision to fire Gus.

Yeah no one was saying he was a slam dunk and yes Lanier likes the “I told you so” a lot.

Many like myself jump on to support the new coach and Harsin talked a good game. I was glad because we all have been saying let’s think outside the good boy circle and find someone. He looked the part and had a pretty good successful record.

I will give Lanier credit as he never got behind this hire and said Harsin would struggle with recruiting.

It’s pretty disingenuous though if he is saying keeping Malzahn was the way to go.

Malzahn couldn’t recruit a top OL his last 6 years or so. I supported Gis but even I knew it was the right time. Greene just made a bad hire and Harsin does not fit in here. It’s obvious, but Malzahn was done too.

The extension and buyout should be the focus of anger and then moving on and hoping we can turn it around with the next hires. I think we need some alignment in the school, PTB, Next AD, next HC, NIL group.

Lanier is also drunk AF right now too.

Show me where i said any different. I didnt say we should keep Gus. I said the decision to hire Harsin was fricking aweful.

Thats all I said

But you are all so upset at yall's savior, you want to think I wanted to keep Gus'.

They should not have changed unless they had something better in the works. Auburn sucks at coaching searches and you are about to see that again. We are not a school that very few good coaches would consider. I hope I am wrong but history says, we are about to be underwhelmed again

And after paying out 15 mil

I still say its not rock bottom yet. I think that is yet still coming
