Where the hell did you pull Jamey Chadwell from LOL?
Chadwell was 52-11 in the past 5 seasons coming into this season. 2 undefeated regular seasons at 2 different schools.
Chadwell has also won 4 conference championships in the last 10 seasons.
Yes this season hasn't been great but he's far from a bad coach. He's not my first pick. I didn't put an order on my list just listed coaches I think the PTB would be interested in

This is a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately sport. Chadwell runs a super gimmicky offense (a very bad sign) and the results have been going backwards. The fact that he won a conference championship at Coastal Carolina should mean nothing.
There is no way he can be the pick.

I'm not saying he will be on the list, but I think Brian Hartline should be on the list. What he's done with Oh St WRs is insane and someone is going to give him that shot eventually.

He should definitely be on the list. I really don't know what to make of him given the fact that he has only ever coached at Ohio State in a program that was succeeding regardless of him, but they need to look at every young candidate with star upside.

Would love to give Durkin a run and see where we're at after 12 games.
If we hire Rhett or Dillingham people should riot.
Like Key, Sumrall, and Schumann.

Looks kinda like a goober, no HC experience. But I just want to do something different. I'd be 100% on board.

I dont hate Schumann but its impossible to ignore the yearly regression since Lanning left. NIL and TP may play a part in that though, clearly its harder to dominate noe.

Would be much better off with Durkin as HC…Schumann being mentioned is a joke. Our issue is offense. The solution is to get rid of Freeze AND our proven DC with HC experience and replace them with a DC with no HC experience and an unknown & unproven OC???

an ugly mf'er. Never played football. worked his way up from a SA to a DC in the SEC so must have some marbles in head that work correctly.

This logic makes zero sense to me. Durkin was absolute arse as the HC at Maryland and didn't even make it to year three after a player died, whereas Lashlee and Dillingham are both winning. Under what pretense would you love to give Durkin the job and riot if Lashlee or Dillingham were hired? Furthermore, who else would hire Durkin as their HC? I haven't heard his name anywhere even with these openings coming up. Guys like Lashlee and Dillingham would absolutely garner attention in the market.
Note that I don't even think that either of those two have any reason to even leave their current jobs. Dillingham is at his alma-mater.

Also, before I go to sleep: Auburn fans are as bad as the PTB when it comes to these coaching turnovers. Auburn's boosters get (valid) flack for somehow ending up with coaches that only they have any interest in, but when you look at the fan perspective it is literally no different. Make Carnell the HC! Give the job to DJ Durkin! In what way is this any different from the boosters running to go get Gene Chizik LOL? The fan push to try to make Carnell the HC is in fact 100x dumber than any stupid idea the PTB have come up with: the guy had literally zero qualification whatsoever and there was an actual movement to give him the job.
Please don't make fun of the PTB if your big idea is to hand the job over to 10-15 DJ Durkin.

Agreed on both counts. Though I do like that Georgia almost always makes good adjustments at halftime and plays better defense in the second half even now with him as full time DC. I do lean to NIL and TP playing a huge role, they had a stupid amount of NFL talent stacked on defense when Lanning was co-DC.
I'd be good with Schumann, Will Stein, or Sumrall as the choice.
I'd be okay with Silverfield or Key, though Key's lack of overall success and all of his success being due to one QB would make me extremely leery of him.

Will Stein at Oregon?
Believe he ends up at Penn State.
If we ended up hiring an assistant coach. I’d take Brian Hartline from Ohio State.
Key, Kiffin, Sumrall are my realistic top 3 though. Kiffin probably a stretch, but I think we should kick the tires again.
At this point it makes more financial sense to pay a HC 10 mill than making a subpar hire and paying a buyout in 3 years again.

Our issue has been offense for a decade with three offensive minded head coaches. Maybe having a true oc who only has to focus on that side of the ball is where it's at. I'm certainly ready for something, anything, different.

I think that two of the young, bright minds in coaching right now are Brent Key (HC - Ga Tech) and Blake Baker (DC - LSU).
Love their defensive focus, and the toughness they bring to their respective programs. Either one would be worthy of consideration as a candidate.

We can get him from Tulane.
Kiffin probably will not leave Ole Miss.
Key might, but GT may really try to keep him.
I going to guess Sumrall.
They might explore with Rhett.
I’m guessing it comes down to these 2.
I’d take Sumrall.

They still have talent along the DL, but they were elite along the line when Lanning was there. That’s not as much the case now, but if we’re going to take a chance on someone young, why not a guy who has worked under Saban and Smart for the last 17 years. He was Smart’s first hire when he got the job at uga. He’s been part of 6 NC teams so he’s seen what it takes.
Someone’s going to go after him and if we don’t, I think we’ll regret it.
