Auburn booty blasts Furman 110-77 in the scrimmage. Johni and Denver both had 18.

They lost. That’s their second scrimmage lost this pre-season.

I’m ready for some basketball but I put nothing into scrimmages because we don’t know if both teams are doing real game things or working on their strengths or their weaknesses.

Think I read Grant fouled out with 10 minutes left, allowed to still play, and they lost anyway.

These scrimmages are not in indicator. We won the SEC after dropping one to Barry FFS.

I haven’t kept up that well

Tre will be the starter right? I ask because I’m really excited about Aden. What’s the starting 5 ?

No starting 5 has been announced I think it will be a mismatch for most of the noncon schedule to see what works best with what.

The spot to look at is the 3 CBM, CMo, and Lior. We get 15 a night there and 8 rebounds and solid defense watch the frick out.

To add to this you need 3 scorers on the court at all times. So maybe Aden is best matched when Dylan is on the floor. Even tho Aden might be a better all around player then Tre but Aden’s ability to shoot and drive might be better in a pick and roll with Dylan. So 15 of Aden’s minutes might be best when Dylan is at center. I have nothing inside there just was given how maybe in a 10-11 man rotation that best doesn’t mean starter. Minutes played will be the bigger factor

Bruce has been pretty tight lipped and it sounds like the only for sure starters are Broome and Jones. A solid guess on the full starting lineup would be
1 - Tre
2 - Denver
3 - CBM
4 - Jaylin
5 - Johni

Word is Chaney might be even better than the coaches thought and he's giving Jaylin a run for his money at the starting spot. I still would be surprised if Jaylin wasn't the starter.

I think one of the guys that could make this team great is KD. If he keeps playing like he finished the year then this team is going to run teams out of the gym. You could easily do a full hockey line change if you wanted to and have a lineup of

1 - Aden
2 - KD
3 - Moore or Lior
4 - Chaney
5 - Dylan

And you could do all kinds of pick n roll action off Dylan with three guys that can penetrate well and have your 3 just sitting in the corner for the likely scenario they have to slide a help defender.

Also excited to see if Johni really has improved his 3 pt shot more. He was one of our more consistent shooters at the end of the year and has supposedly put a ton more work into his shot.

yup. Chaney has been balling, however I think He and Jaylin will share minutes.

I'm thinking that Jaylin will start, but will share some minutes with Chaney.

I think so far fall pre-season ball has been really pleasant

Aiden might not start early in the season, but if he is who I think he is he will be getting starter minutes and finishing games from the jump.

I think the biggest thing will be him finishing games and minutes played. Like corch said, it could make sense from a rotation standpoint to keep Tre as the starter with weapons around him at the other 4 positions, and have Aden rotate in to get more time with the backups to avoid a dropoff in offense.

I had to look up who “CBM” is. I don’t remember him from the portal period. I take it he’s pretty good? I’m hyped about Denver tho.

Long, lanky kid from JUCO but before that he was at San Diego State where he was 6th man of the year for the MWC. Should be a good shooter who will probably get some blocks from his length. He's going to struggle against guys that are physical though.
